I was just curious if its raining really hard and your socks get wet, what the proper procedure is for wearing the house slippers or walking on a tatami mat?

Also would it be correct to assume not to wear sandals or anything without socks in Japan?

Though I cannot understand what kind of situation it is.

Please take off wet shoes.
Please take off wet socks.
Please wipe a foot.
Please wear house slippers.
Please do not enter a house with a wet foot.
Cleaning is hard.

I put an old newspaper in wet shoes and dry it.

Thanks for the information. I didnt know if the Japanese frowned upon walking barefoot on the tatami mats or not.

When there is I on a tatami mat, I am a bare foot.

About slippers,
If I came in Ryokan,
At the entrance, I take off shoes.
I change into indoor slippers.If I was guided in a room,
I take off slippers at an entrance of a room

Attention
If you enter a rest room, please change into slippers for lavatories.

Thank you. I will remember about the lavatory slippers, I wish they had those for the United States.
