Hello guys. I have a question regarding the Certificate of Eligibility. I have just been admitted for a master's program in Japan for the April entrance of 2013. And the school asked me to submit documents needed for the applciation of Certificate of Eligibility no later than December.

I was wondering if I am able to submit all the documents needed earlier than December ( say this Oct.) will they process my Certificate of Eligibility earlier so that I could apply for student visa maybe before the end of this year? or does the japanese government just have some certain period of time to process all the application of Certificate of Eligibility and even if i submit my documents early, i still need to wait till that time to get it?

Thank you!

You can and probably should submit your documents earlier. But I do not know whether submitting your documents early would necessarily mean you also get your CoE early. You should try asking the International Center at your University by e-mail.

The Japanese embassy usually processes visa applications pretty fast. I got my student visa within 4 days of applying. Are you planning to come here 2-3 months before your classes start?

Thank you for replying. yes, I plan to go there a little bit earlier so I was wondering if they could give me COE ealier or I might need a travel visa there first.
