Hi guys,
I have been learning about comparatives lately namely the use of 比べる。
I was wondering if the following grammar is correct. In particular is the use of と necessary?

In English what I am trying to say is.

This books dialogue when compared to the movie is very close.

please check use of 比べる

Easy to forget the の

Wouldn't 比べれば work better here?

Thanks mikesan,

Recently I have just finished reading
My friends have asked me questions about the differences between the book and movie. So this grammar structure will help a lot.

Come to think of it, I don't believe I would use 比べる there at all. The act of comparison is implicit in 似ている already.

So just use something like.

I agree with Mike-san. I would just say Since you are asked the difference between the book and movie, you don't need to mention it again.

Thanks a lot. You both always know how to explains things very well.
