In the New-York-Times, op-ed page. Had a large profile in the printed edition (which i had bought). What do the Koreans on this board have to say ? Any comments

Anyone who expects South Korea to help the United States put pressure on the North hasn't been paying much attention to what has happened over the last five years.

Bush and South Korean President Stress Common Goals By DAVID STOUT June 10, 2005

S.Korea wants peaceful resolution without sanctions, without further inducements; US inducements as last year.

U.S. and Seoul Try to Ease Rift on Talks With the North By DAVID E. SANGER Published: June 11, 2005 S.Korea: prefers diplomatic solution, doesn't seek improved offer, US: peaceful yes, but open to tougher options. Call's N.Korean leader Mr. instead of 'tyrant.'

While N.Korea is delaying the multinational talks and dismantling nuclear arms, it is also dealying economic reform. If N.K. is bluffing about additional warheads as some S.K. officials suspect, it would be better get to business early rather than wasting valuable time for development.
