Little fire

Can 'Little fire' be expressed as 小火?
I think 'chiisai' can be expressed as 小さい as well as ちいさい、and I think 小 means little. hi is fire. I KNOW that. (I think)
So can you use 小火 to mean 'little fire'? What would be the reading of that? I want to know because it will help me learn kanji compounds better.

It depends on the meaning of "fire" you have in your mind.

If you mean the fire in general (what you can produce with a lighter or striking a match stick, etc.) you should say 小さい火.

There is a word 小火（しょうか） which means little fire but normally this fire means fire as an incident - the case you need to call fire brigade (normally called 火事／かじ), and 小火 is a fire in small scale, easy to put out.
This word is not commonly used, though.
