kunnichiwa! Hey guys i'm new here and just wanted to tell you a little about myself.........well ok A LOT. first thing i am exactly what the thread title is, BLACKANESE. my dad is japanese and my mom is jamaican. I am currently living in toronto, ontario but will be moving at the end of gr.11 to japan. I am currently in hs. A grade 10 thats 15 so in 2 years i leave on my voyage. Note i go it solo for my japanese family views me a dishonor and a disgrace to the family. I don't really hate them for this but by living there i hopefully get a better understanding of my background. I go to live there permanently because i want a fresh start at life and can't deal with the stress of knowing my future here is going to be working my *** off until i'm 45 to be financially stabe, i wanna live free. sushtei nihongo ga hanasemasu!

Welcome to the forum, it's good that you want to know more about your background. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask, but know that you will receive honest (sometimes very straight) answers.

have fun on the forum!

Hello there, welcome to J-Ref! I aswell live in Toronto, Ontario and I am only an age older -- 16! Maybe you and I can be friends? I also have the same interest to go to Japan, and I don't know anyone really that has the same interest as me. I'd like to talk to others about it, because sometimes I feel no one understands why I want to go to Japan, etc.

Hope to hear from you soon. Take care!

Welcome and have fun!

I feel no one understands why I want to go to Japan, etc.

I had the same feelings, the first reaction when I first told people that I was gonna go study to Japan were telling me that why not Europe. I told them that something captivated my feelings towards the country like the foreign mystique, the futuristic look there is into it and most of all, the girls, really beautiful.

You know...I find your choice of words rather disrespectful, but as you are speaking of yourself, I will not take issue with it. Welcome to the forum and I wish you the best.

From the misspelling in the title and the parenthetical, I feared that this thread was going to be about a Japanese-ebonics hybrid, so I was pleasantly surprised. That's the beauty of lowered expectations.

Hello and welcome, new person. Welcome to the site and enjoy your stay at Jref.

sorry for offending although i don't know how. If you got offended by the title then you shouldn't have read this. By the way i'm 15 in gr.10 so grammar isn't of that compared to yours. Nice first impression you know how to make ppl feel welcomed.

Thanks for the sarcasm. Your grammar isn't the problem. Some people here find your term "blackanese" to be racially offensive. I don't, but that's what's going on here.

well yea sorry but I'M the one who calls himself this. This or either blasian would be the name of my mix, and i rather not use blasian.

Sorry if you don't see the problem here, but remember one thing...perception is key when speaking of being offensive. It is how a person percieves something, not how you meant it to be. Either way, I don't think that I was hostile to you. I did welcome you. If you like, I could become hostile.
