Hello Everyone,
Just thought I'd drop a line and let everyone know I was officially accepted to Kansai Gaidai for the fall 2005 semester. I'm very excited to spend such a long amount of time abroad and for the incredible learning experience.
I made a thread last year sometime when this was all fuzzy and not worked out asking tons of questions about everything. Thanks to everyone for the help and this is now becoming a reality. Yay!!!
Any Suggestions???!!!

How incredable. I myself was up for going to the same university after the summer. However it was my second choice and i was lucky to get my first. therefore i will be going to another university. If more people applied to my first choice i could very well be comming over there with you

I heard they will team you up over there with a Japanese student near to when you arrive, the idea being you share language and cultural experiences etc. So that shoudl be fun

If you can, take classes with Dr. Paul Scott, it's worth it. Doc Hanagan is pretty cool too.

Heeey, congratulations!!
That's the one my husband went to as an exchange student! He took a few elective classes like 'Japanese films' which he liked a lot.

There is a small 'Kofun'(ancient grave for the loyal family members) right behind the school. It's spooky and cool.

OMFG! Do you know Dr. Hanagan? My husband liked him as well, he put more effort in the paper for Dr. Hanagan's class than his Japanese class.

Tim33,

I decided on the Seminar Houses for at least the first semester. I realize staying in the halls is a potential English bubble, but I feel that I want the most freedom possible to start out. I anticipate spending the full academic year at Kansai Gaidai, so staying with a host family in the spring semester is a real possibility. A positive side of the halls is also the fact that Kansai Gaidai admits students from all around the world, thus creating a very cultural experience in the halls.

My husband is 28 yrs old, mad_pierrot. He took Dr. Hanagan's class in the spring of '99. How about you?

Hey, did you know that his wife and he go to the southern island to avoid Christmas because neither of them can stand the hussle around that time?

I took his comparative religion and philosophy class in winter 2002...
I wonder how many Gaidai people are involved in Jref?
