Great Info. But in the PBS japan documentary , Tokugawa Iyeyasu wore the same helmet. I am ware that Date Masamune. was famous for the crescent helmet but the red war dress reminds me of the Tokugawa Bafuku

Tokugawa Ieyasu didn't ware 赤備え by himself. The most well-known 赤備え is Takeda Shingen's generals' ones, as I wrote. Later, an Ieyasu's genaral Ii Naomasa took over Takeda's army, and became famous as 井伊の赤備え. You or the TV program missed something.
