The Yakei Convention & Visitors Bureau released its annual ranking of Japan's most captivating nighttime cityscapes. Yokohama achieved a significant milestone by securing second place, marking its first-ever entry into the top three. This achievement makes Yokohama the first municipality in the greater Tokyo area to be recognized among the top three cities for its nighttime beauty.
Yokohama's success was attributed to initiatives like "Yorunoyo," a spectacular event illuminating the Minato Mirai waterfront and surrounding areas. The city also regularly hosts spectacular fireworks displays at its port. Kitakyushu and Nagasaki, located in western Japan, maintained their positions as the top and third-ranked cities for nighttime beauty, respectively.
A Japanese organization has unveiled its latest ranking of the country's municipalities with the best nightscapes. The city of Yokohama came second, putting it among the top three for the first time.
