The Ocean Dome - in Miyazaki, Japan - is known as the world's largest indoor water park measuring 300 metres in length, 100 metres in width and having a retractable roof. The air temperature is always kept around 30 degrees celsius. It is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest indoor water park.
Oooh... that looks... kinda fun, but also kinda creepy in some strange way. ☝ It reminds me a bit of nightmares I used to have about swimming in tanks of water...
I heard of it quite a few years ago and would love to go. However when I go to Japan next year I doubt I will make it there. I believe it's in the far south of japan ?
Ocean Dome is a part of the resort complex called Seagaia. Although a part of Okinawa G8 Summit meetings in 2000 was held there, it did not attract as many tourists as expected. It went Chapter 11 in Feb. 2001, then acquired by Ripplewood.
