A little off topic but i think this is the best place to put it. Does anybody know where to get japanese books(translated hopefully) Or with a side by side translation?
Also what books would you recomend.
I am not talking about graphic novels but full chapter books.

H.murakami- he's so great. Try a search if you wanna know what some of the books are about, or PM me , 'I am a Cat'- dunno who it's by but my friends like. I haven't read it though.
Hope it helps, theres loads others can't think right now lol.

Both Murakami's (Ryu and Haruki) are worth reading.

"I Am a Cat" (By Soseki Natsume) I personally found a bit hard going, but it is considered a masterpiece by some.

I find Yukio Mishima a bit too dense, but, again, others would seriously disagree.

Junichiro Tanizaki is very good.

Put "Japanese Literature" into Amazon's search engine and it'll bring you up a nice list to experiment on.....

thanks ill check those out.

Makioka Sisters by Tanizaki (thanx for the cue mike)
Quite good- but then again i have weird tastes haha....
