I think a lot of people make that mistake. Kind of common, so...
 

Here is a quote from Gackt autobiography on what happened:

"One week afterwards, the official announcement of Kami's death was made.

"June 21, 1999. Kami, the drummer of Malice Mizer, passed away of a subarachnoid hemorrhage."

Though I knew of this later, from the moment immediately following Kami's death, I already had a bad feeling.

In the end, I heard about Kami's death through the grapevine. The funeral was already over when the news got to me.

It was exactly in the middle of recording, and I locked myself away inside the studio. I couldn't keep my mind on anything. But I had to keep busy. I told myself that. If I didn't do anything, everything would become strangeﾂ…"

gah, they never informed Gackt about the funeral? thats mean...

lol ya in the beginning i thought hyde and hide were the same too...

Luckily, someone told me about them both. Although she spelled the name like Heide and said she couldn't remember which one was dead, and this being before I got into hide, I was all panicked because I didn't know if the girl meant hide or hyde.

I was all like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

But then I read on a site that another L'Arc~en~Ciel CD was coming out in 2 weeks or so (SMILE!!), so, yeah. Prove that it wasn't hyde that was dead!

And then eventually I listened to hide, got all into him, and almost cried...Or maybe I did...I can't remember.

Gackt....Him saying he locked himself away in the studio reminds me of what happened at his first live --- Gackt got locked in the bathroom!! XD lol

hide is really neat. I love his song "Pink Spider" with Spread Beaver. I am still not 100% into him but I think I will get there. Tee hee. I think he's so kawaii! Yay! hide! You'll live on in all our hearts.
 
its really too bad he died, he's really cool. im not really a fan but i like his stuff.
 
Ya same here. Poor hide...to think that someone who made great music is passed away...it's just hard to believe at times.

He was really beautiful, especially from X Japan era

And, well, can we change the subject here...? This one's probably going to make me cry or close to it, ne!

Just lucky I wasn't listening to any depressing song involving hide, especially "Forever Love"....
