How to find directions for the road trips in Japan

I have been looking for the web site which gives you the directions from point A to point B in Japan for the road trip. I am driving from Osaka area to Tokyo area by car as I need to move my stuffs from my family home to my new crib in the burb outside Tokyo metro. I want to stop for a night in Mt. Fuji area before I get to my place in TYO early morning the following day.
I would appreciate your recommendation on the web sites which could help me set up the trip plan and itinerary.

I have looked at that site; but, I was not able to find the feature which gives me the road directions. I want to plug in the origin address and the destination address and have the web site come up with the directions based on the distance, time, routes, or others. Or, am I not looking at the right place on that website?
There are a few good sites for info on the train rides. But, I have not been able to find the good site which gives the road trip info (meaning, the road trip by a passenger car). Back in USA, I used to use MapQuest to get the rudimentary directions, which got me started on the road trip plan.

Is that the movie released a while back in the 70s? The Muppet Movie (1979) - IMDb
I have not seen it yet. I am guessing there is a connection between this thread and The Muppet Movie; but, I have failed to see it.

You'll never get anything like that on the web. Buy a decent car navi and use it, its what every other person in this country does.

You'll probably have to do it the "old fashioned way" with maps. JNTO has free maps and brochures that they'd be happy to send you. Just tell them what you need (and where) and they'll send them to you.

That's too bad; I was hoping you were familiar with it.

The movie was sort of a musical, and one of the numbers involved a hitch-hiking Kermit the Frog being given a ride by Fozzie Bear. (They're both headed to Hollywood to break into show biz).

I think Google Earth will be useful ... it helped me a lot of times

how did nobody thought of that before ?

it can even give you the distance from A to B
