Hosomaki sushi are slender rolls of rice and seaweed sliced into neat morsels. Each roll contains a single filling of either vegetable or fish, creating a striking contrast of colours in the middle. They make a delightful appetiser or a light meal, whether in a bento box or on a plate.

Kanji: 細巻き
Kana: ほそまき
Romaji: hosomaki
