@ Axe - I think the RED cover art looks Lady Gaga esque -_-.
I can't say for sure but maybe cause it seems exotic or influence from Western entertainment.
 
you can also include there why Western music is very much popular in Japan. Japanese artists often use "western people" because they are different from them. I think it's more of a novelty? It's the same how people in my country prefer the mestizas over true blooded Filipinos.
 
of course not every band does it...but when it comes to Gazette...for example...Burial Applicant, RED cover art, Reila, Silly God Disco, Filth in the beauty, Regret...those where were used European models (in case of Burial Applicant of course the whole family)...well, I was told that European women are not attractive from Japanese point of view...

shizuka: where did you hear european women are not attractive for japanese? I think it depends on the person, but they sure find them exotic, just like we find asian people exotic.

I think Gazette has a lot of western influence in the music and it is the same for their cover art as well. The covers then look more exclusive, exotic, with a non asian girl on it

@ol...it was very strange Indonasian who (I think he is here too) is very proud of his asian origin...I guess it's no use to argue about it (you know that people who don't accept others opinions -.-)...he said that European women have big noses and they get old quickly and asian guys don't give a damn about them...but most of models are pretty and some beautiful...anyway I'm safe in Japan xD I'm ugly even for Europeans xD
 
From SHIVER & RED I only like one song each from the 6 singles -_-
Now for PLEDGE
I've never seen them use black , south asians or any ethnic girls also I didn't know the girls in FITB & SGD were European . Now that you mention it the girl who had her face tied up in RED also looked foreign. I guess it's what they rather or what they think will appeal .

the term foreign is much better (naturally I don't know where are the models from) so yeah...in those PVs are foreign and it looks like in RED too...

I also like RED the most from the three songs
 
they used a japanese girl in the late version of Chizuru and I loved her, she was so pretty!

all their current singles and OHP have a gaga-ish cover lol....
 
this post is not related to gazette...more to j-rock and visual kei overall...I'm scared because kids in my country start to like it in the way like EMO was cool and in...this article totally pissed me off...the girl writes that her friend and she are "visu" and it's awesome. More she mentions that she makes her own clothes, does he make up with kajal and died her hair blond and pink. She likes An cafe and the GazettE. Then she complaints that she's bullied for it...I know this is kind of sad but I will sound proud again when I say that I don't like this way of spreading j-rock....kids are bored and probably will ruin another style in eyes of the world...for this...thank you very much girl!

I think that the photo picked the magazine...that it's not the actual picture of the girls...but on the pic I guess it's rather decora...
