Uh, KayokoSango, why are there pictures of Miyavi?

Hahah, I didn't notice any of the members when I got into Gazette. I had only listened to samples on their official site, and could care less about how they looked.

Erm, I'm just curious...do you guys like their looks or their music more? I'm not trying to be accusatory, but I have come across people who have memorized practically every detail on a certain band member's body, but have never heard or liked their music. And all they talk about is looks. I avoid those forums like the plague. Those kind of people annoy me to no end.
Gah, I'm in a strange mood today.

thanks for the welcome guys

It wasn't just the look of the band members that interested me, it was their music that i absolutely loved when i heard one of their songs for the very first time. From then on, i've been searching their music and have come to love it greatly.
I've been researching quite a few bands from japan, and i just can't get enough of it. I really enjoy music and appreciate what bands work hard for, by giving us all they have and making us happy.

First song I heard was "Anti pop"
I didn't know how did they look nor I care. They can look how ever they want. It's the music that matters, looks is just something additional. I couldn't listen to a band that looks pretty and sucks at music part. Blah!

Sadly, there are a lot of people who only look at artist's pictures. They're like, "ohmahgod, lyk, they're sooo hott!!11!!1" *insert horrible fangirl giggle.* Then someone asks them about their favorite song, and they're like, "........uh,lyk, who cares, they're hot!11" Die. Now. hahah, seriously, I too could never listen to a band even if they were the most beautiful people in the world if their music sucked.

I don't even remember the first Gazette song I heard. All I know is that I fell in love with the song Reila. I think, though, that the name is meant to be "Layla", but just got changed to Reila, since that's how the Japanese would pronounce it.

^ agree about it! and about reila too. there are times where at first a bands looks catch my interest, then i look for their music. if i don't like their music, then that's it. i dont claim them to be my favourite or i absolutely love them or something

i saw gazette's and aoi's looks first but i really disliked them >_> i went to listen to two of their songs and STILL disliked them x_x; i forgot how it became to the turning point where i gave them another chance and found i love their music, then lastly it was looks. of course cassis(and verkelktes gedicht =D) came along and it deepened my interest in them until now to this point XD

I saw Gazette in a magazine, and it was their look that made me wanna listen to their music, that was and still are amazing! I like their look, but the music means more to me than the look. Don't missunderstand now, it's NOT a bad thing that they are hot,sexy,cute,mature.... I really like it! Spec Reitas look

What exactly makes one a fangirl? I don't think I fangirl. I do get excited, however, when an artist I like releases something new. The first time I bought a rock cd, I became so happy I jumped all over the house like a chicken on crack. XD

Erm, yeah, that's the only time I did that.

Pink_Usagi _Chan that was a good question! I don't eather do fangil, i think. I looks at picture, listen to their music, reads intrewievs and stuff like that. I do get happy when they're realising something new and stuff like that, and sad when i hear something bad or sad... but that maybe is fangirling?!?
well, it doesn't really mather for me...
But it's one thing that I had thaought about, or my friend did the thinking but.. eh, to the question now! "Fangirls", do they accept ther idols private life? i mean, if we say that someone sees Ruki in town, do that person stars to screaming and runns over and grabbing him everywhere?!? Me, and my friend have heard that that kind of things happens to Jhonny's, for example. I mean, they are just humans. Anyone who understands what I mean?!?! no so good at explaning things...

I understand what you mean. Yeah, those Johnny's boys get mobbed a lot, even at their own concerts. (erm, my sister's a johnny's fan, that's how I know)

I think that a "fangirl" is a girl who is crazily obsessed with an artist or band to the point that yes, they would grab, scream and mob them. They also normally only care about looks. Maybe someone has a better definition?

Hahah, if I saw Ruki on the street, I'd be really shocked. But, I'd just go about my business and not bother him. Unless, of course, he spoke to me, then I'd probably say, "Aren't you Ruki from Gazette?" But there is a 95% chance that will never happen, so I don't even worry about it.

Yeah, what you do I wouldn't call fangirling. I'd call it normal.

it's nothing wrong with beeing a Jhonny's fan, i think some of their music is relly good , it's just the crazy fangils that it is something wrong to! (not your sister of course)
that's good to know, i'm not a fangirl. I'm normal! (in that piont XD)
well, if i would see Ruki on the steet, it would be like "is't that Ruki? cool..."
but if i just, by a chance happen to bump in to him, the i would be really shocked and maybe ask for a autograph or two...

All j-rock bands that I like, I knew them by pictures first. I liked how they look, so then I started listening to their music. The music is more important than the way they look...but for me if they look in a way that I really like, for example, Dir en grey, or well, Gazette, is better and I like them a lot more. Maybe I am a fangirl :-S , but the music is the most important.

hahahh of course for a BAND the most important thing is their music... if people want looks, they should just fangirl over models....but looks definitely are a bonus for the group!

yeh, it is like that for me too. Se pic, listen to music, music is good = band i like. but if i hear a band and think it good and later i see a pic of the group, they can be ugly, old wathever. as long i think they make good music.
Look isn't all, but it helps! and i don't think there is no one that says no to a good looking guy
you can be a fangirl, sa long you are't a "crazy fangirl" you aren't, right?

how did i get into gazette:?
I sorta got tired of jpop so i decided to give jrock a try.
I had no idea visual kei existed and i'm really easily scared(well i was anyway) and some more extreme *coughbloodycough* visual bands really spooked me and then when i heared gazette I fell in love right away. Gazette was the band that sorta eased me into the whole visual kei thing

and about the looks/music thing. If i like the music enough then looks don't matter...if it's really that bad i'll just avoid pictures and all
