well i feel like i'm gunna cry.... i did a HUGE long post to reup this thread and then my internet crashed on me and i lost it ALL!!!! omigod there was like... more than 500 words or so *weeps*

well... i'm still booting this thread... because it was my pride and joy, and i think it's good to have attention focused on the drummers once in a while...

the thing about drummers is that they do so much more than play the drums... Yashiki is the perfect example of this, he was definatly not just the drummer in X Japan... the drummer keeps the beet of the music, keeps everything to gether, but i've found it common that drummers do this personality wise too. everyone in the band has to get on with the drummer, otherwise nothing works... cvan you imagin what it would be like if the drummer didn't get on well with everyone else? they have to know their band members possibly more so than the others, because they're all listening to the drum line to keep intime with eachother...

so... to get this trhead back and started, i HAD prepered a stupidly long post talking about all the drummers i have pics of on my comps... but... that took me forever, so i'm just gunna post the pictures and their nama and bands now... if you wanan know about the bands, then i'll tell you ^.^

Kawauchi Tohru, 12012
one of my fave bands, and one of my fave drummers.


Nao, Alice Nine
not a huge fan, but i do think Nao's a good drummer.


Makoto, Cali=Gari
damn good drummer, and a completely insane band.


Tsukasa, D'espairsRay
seen them live and he's amazing to watch. annother of my fave bands.



Shinya, Dir en Grey
what is there to say? he's stunning and a genious drummer!


Kikasa, Due' le Quarts
i find it odd that some[eople don't know this band... i actually knew of them before Miyavi ^^; but Kikasa's a great drummer ^.^


Kai, The GazettE
Kai had a big fanbase on here back when i was posting loads. we all loved him lots ^.^ Gazette is one of my all time fave bands ^.^

he's such a dork...


Yuune, Gazette
their former drummer. he was with them for a very short time. not popular with the fans, and even the band never mention him.


Shin, Jinkaku Radio
not many people know this band but they're one of my faves. officially there are 2 mambers, but Shin is their support drummer ^.^


Shizumi, Kagerou
i was really upset when i heared of their disbandenment. still, i'm looking forward to their last album ^.^ they were one of the very first Jbands i listened to.


Izumi, Kagrra,
you should all really know how much i love and adore this man, but i won't spam. basically i'm carzy about Kagrra,. they are like my pure obsession.
Isshi is an amazing drummer, and very acomplished composer. his love of Jazz, i feel, really benefitst his druming ability, and his compashion for then other band members and theirs for his is all what makes Kagrra, the amazing band they are today ^.^



Yasuno, Kra
it was Yasuno's hair that inspired me to go pink. i actually whent blond round about the time he whent brown, but he schanged back and i didn't ^^;



Keito, Luvie/Ruvie
this band is like my precious, i adore them so completely. i'm so upset that Keito left... he was like my fave member *weeps* i hope they find a good drummer to cary on with!


Kami, Malice Mizer
one of the sad stories of Jrock. i know a lot of people were devistated by his death, but at least he's not going to be forgotten, being part of one of the greatest rock bands in Japanese history ^.^


Satochi, MUCC
MUCC are one of my fave bands... and Satochii's a very talented drummer, with the typical drummer look about him ^.^

Takumi, Panic Channel
unfortunatly the departure on Tara left Paniku in a bit of a mess. i'm glad he recovered and started Betti with Jui, however, paniku were one of my all time fave bands, and now most of them, including Takumi, don't want to continue i think...maybe he should be Luvie's drummer! XD



Buchii, Plastic Tree
(Hiroshi Sasabuchi) Pura are my all time fave band in the whole world and seeing them live was a dream come true. Buchii is brillient live, and very sweet. he's quite hillerious in how 'not bothered' he seems sometimes XD his attempted french was adorable, but when he gave up and whent back to speeking Japanese i thought it was the greatest thing ever XD


Takashi, Plastice Tree
their former drummer, he was with Pura a long time. many say he was boring and dull, but i disagree and actually find that he has a great presence on stage and in interviews i've read he seems very clever and a genuinly sweet natured guys ^.^ this is one of my fave Jrock pics:


Mika, RENTRER EN SOI
RES are another of my fave ever bands. their sound is so unique. Mika's drumming has a raw quolity to it and mixed with Satsuki's voice makes a heavenly combination.



Ao, Rentrer en Soi
their former drummer. don't know anything about him, just that he left for musical differences, and there are no bad feelings about him really.


Seika, Bis
the other P.S. Compnay band that sometimes even ther lable it's self forget about. i actualy really like them, and i hope to here more of their stuff, but i know nothing of them >.<


Ruiza, D
this tasty treat stured up a lot of fuss a while back here on Jreff. noone knew who he was, just that he had the most delicious looking legs around XD
D are a brillient band and i really wanan get my hands on more of their stuff. ruiza even did a little side project and the stuff's really good!


Fu-Ma, Izabell Varosa
it took me almost a year to get a hold of these guys... and lukily i wasn't disapointed. they're really good ^.^


Kazumi, Lareine
these guys have a very unique style. but i like them a lot ^.^


Matoi, Phantasmagoria
i love this band and their image. i really wish i had more of their stuff though >.<


Aoshi, Retina
i actually really like this band. need to get more of their stuff. they're fairly heavey.


Izumi, the Pumpkin Head
this band is so my precious... not because they re remotly precious, but because i love them so much because they are just completely insane. Izumi is wone of the founding members and his and fury pan (lead singer) are school friends (a lot like Nao and Izumi from Kagrra,) bluss he's really cute o^.^o


Tero, Vidoll
i know very little about them, excepnt they'er disbandend... right? but i love Jui's voice and from what i've heared i like ^.^


Yuuya, SID
i love this band... mostly because i love their combination of blues and rock/metal. Yuuya's drumming is definatly a huge part of this ^.^


Mizue, Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re
anyone know these girls? i love them, and Mizue's a great drummer!


Haru, Vogas Image
all i know about this band is they're disbandend, and only like... 2 years ago or something like that. does anyone else look at Haru and thinkg 'blond Izumi'? ^^;

Yoshiki, X Japan
there isn't much you can say about this man... or rather, there's so much you just don't know where to start. he simply is the godfarther of Jrock... even if you aren't a huge fan of X Japan, you simply cannot deny this mans genious. he was song writer, music arranger, lyricist, costume designer, pianist, and drummer to one of the greatest bands in rock history.... so here's a few pictures of the man doing what he dose best:

Ummm, you've mentioned a helluva lot of drummers that I like already... I want to put in a word for O-jiro of Penicillin... great drummer ... gets overlooked because he's not conventionally handsome... personally I love him to bits (mostly because of his drumming skills, admittedly XD), here he is:

I think we all can notice something here: 99% of those drummers are from Visual bands..so, where are Sakura (s.o.a.p.) Shinya (luna sea) Katsuji (gargoyle) Ironfist Tatsushima (die you bastard!) or the guy who can beat god playing drums: Akira Jimbo??

but like i said, i was posting pics from bands that i have pictures of... otherwise i'd have pics of a load of other bands up there...
including Akeboshi, Art-School, 10-feet... and i would have put one of Gian Kinsao, but i didn't have any pictures!

pluss... i think Shinya from Luna sea is AMAZING... i've completely fallen inlove with that band... *sigh*

That's the only pic of Gian i have.. it makes me laugh. I want to know what he uses to keep his sock on. Can't just be elastic - wouldn't that, erm, restrict the circulation? I bet it's that kind of sticky tape that models use to stop their dresses falling off their tits.

He's a jazz fusion drummer, and plays drums in Casiopea (obviously a jazz fusion band ☝ ) His technique and skills are just unbelievable... I've met awesome drummers, but he plays in a unique league, his own drummer league.

And I proudly own his drumsticks... they're way too far more important for me than Yoshiki drumsticks

AND i may be subject to many a violent pieces of abuse when i say this... BUt Yoshiki's drumming skills aren't his best... and it's the entier ensomble that makes him the amazement that he is... so i can agree this guy may very well be a much more impressive drummer ^.^

In drummerworld they have some drumsolo videos of him, and in youtube they used to have almost all of his drum methods, but apparently the page erased them all, I don't know if people is uploading them again... and in Soulseek you can find almost all of his works with Casiopea. If you're interested I could upload some of those CD's for you (as soon as I have time)

Whose drumsticks: Akira Jimbo's or Yoshiki's??

I got the Yoshiki's drumsticks (Tama 2B 'Yoshiki') from a friend, and Akira Jimbo gave me his own drumsticks (Vic Firth 5A 'SAJ') in a drum clinic here where I live; I was lucky that he gave me a mini-drum lesson there, and then he gave me the drumsticks he was using during that clinic

Wow, you actually went to a drum clinic of his, that is so cool! I wish I could play drums... but I know I would suck at it.

OMG! I wish I had found this thread sooner! I love drummers~ I find they are very awesome!

My favorite drummer of all time definitly has to be Kami of Malice Mizer~ He is just WAY too awesome for me! Honeatly though I really admire him I find that he put a lot of energy into his music and Well I just love him to bits~

And I don't know when I listen to music I listen to it as a whole and I've come to appreciate the drums, I find it really holds up the song~ So in general I really enjoy drummers~ More so now that I'm into Jrock LOL!

And don't worry about not knowing much about Kami~ he has died sometime ago~ Even I only knew of him recently but... I don't know I find him too awesome for words!
