+D'espairsRay+

There is a rumor circulating about Hizumi having a heart condition and a photoshopped pic to go along with it. I just want to clear this up in case anyone has heard/seen it, or to warn those who haven't. This is absurd, because there are numerous photos of him shirtless (and scarless) and I have seen him in person and his chest was perfect. He didn't have heart surgery and I don't remember him mentioning a heart problem in any interviews I have read. Even if he did have a bad heart, this is such a ridiculous thing to do. I am growing more and more tired of people and their Internet fantasies...

I heard that rumour too, but I didn't believe it. Many, many people have seen them live, and there were lots of writings about the lives floating around on the internet. Someone would have mentioned it if Hizumi had a scar - and I'm sure that even good makeup couldn't cover it over from real eye sight all through a live.

It is just some sick person wanting to make people worried.

i know i have heard that rumor before too. I just dont see how people can make up such CRAZY things about artist. And photoshop a pic to go with it. Thats insane...

ok, I called the Avalon today and the lady on the phone said the majority of the concerts there are 18+..I didnt go into asking her about the d'espa concert because she seemed kind of bitchy *cowers*
I am almost deffinatly going to the florida show!! My mom wants to visit her family (all of which live in florida) so its almost deffinate unless something comes up...

edit:fwahaha...Im going to be going there around the time they shoudl be flying in...whouldnt it be great to run into them at Orlando airport ? XD

I am surprised it took me so long to post on this thread. Maybe because even though I am a D'espairsRay fan I am a casual fan, and not 100% into them. I mean I have the Coll:Set some one bought it for me as a gift, but even though it is good I am not crazy about them. Now the New York show I really want to go to, considering that I have missed all the other concerts, one of which was REALLY (as in only 45 mins from me) close to me.

While I like D'espa I'm not UBER crazy about them. I am asking the peoples of this thread if they choose to accept this mission to turn me into an UBER DespairsRay fan. Hit me with your best shot.

Also how much are the tickets for the Avalon concert going to be. And how many people on this thread are planning to go or will go to the Avalon concert.

I figured the show would probably be 18+ or 21+... then after reading the web site I thought maybe 16+ but that seems like such a weird age limit to me. We will find out soon enough though. All though I don't really care since I am 22, but for people that are 18-20 then it makes a big difference that's for sure!

Nana I don't think anyone can make you or influence you to be a bigger fan of Despa, except yourself. It's all your personal choice - if you are a huge fan of their music or not. There are lots of bands I like, but I don't get all into them like I do for others. Sometimes it takes listening to a band more and more to realize how good they are, or to like certain things that maybe you weren't big on at first. Kind of like Dir en grey or other bands that have different vocals. Some people hear it a few times and don't like it, but then give it another listen and simply fall in love with it! I hope that you do become a bigger Despa fan, maybe going to see them will do it for you? Who knows! They are great musicians, and have a great sound... plus it doesn't hurt that they are good to look at too lol.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $17 at the door. Have you heard any of their music prior to [Coll:set]? What sort of music are you into the most, heavy or light? I could recommend songs and upload them for you. I don't know how else to make you an uber fan haha. Unless you are persuaded by dorky offstage antics! If that is the case there are video clips of them.

There is a new Tsukasa drawing up! Here is a hint for my sis, it's a nickname for your booty!

Haha that's so funny that he drew a picture dedicated to my Pumpkin Butt!!! I knew he'd love the booty lol. Remember when I was picking out skirts for the show and I wanted one that showed off my butt better since asian girls don't have much booty? LOL that was hilarious.

As far as the Avalon show goes... after doing some research I am almost positive it will just be 18+ They have a club night on Thursdays called Hot and Heavy (haha I sure would like to get H&H with Despa after the show lol) The only thing that sucks is, sometimes when venues have club nights they start the shows earlier. The doors are at 10pm for this club night, which would suck if they make them play earlier and shorter to get done in time for the clubbing. Some venues just cancel their club nights when there's a concert though... I hope they do that! I want to dance with them though LOL that would be hilarious!

You are forgetting the research I did! There are 7 shows listed for that venue and they are all 16+. Club nights are way different than concert events. Most of the venues we go to in Detroit have club nights that are 21+, but for concerts it's all ages. Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping for at least 18+, but I'm just going by the evidence seen here...

Well actually to say I am such a Dir en Grey fan, when I first heard them 4 years ago (wow was it really that long) I coudn't stand them and didn't touch their stuff, until 2 years ago. Now I love them.

As for what I heard before Coll:Set nothing. It was a gift, I had never heard of them, never knew them until my cousin (who hates J-Rock and knows absolutely nothing about them bought it for me, In fact I don't even know where she got it or why she chose it cause she doesn't even know the J-Rock bands that I listen to, but it was the thought that counts) got it for me for my b-day.

And even then out of that CD there is around 5 songs that at this moment I can't name that I love, about 3 that I totally dislike and the rest is give or take. But besides their names and getting a couple of pics of them I really know next to nothing about them, except that the CD was good, and even though I liked those few songs I never really bothered to look for more, because they didn't catch me that much. Thats probally why I kept missing their concerts cause they weren't that important. But now after hearing the great reviews about the concert I really want to go now. And it would suck if it was 21+ cause I am only 19.

And as for what type of music I listen to even I don't know. I've only recently started getting into rock music of ANY KIND whether Japanese or not. Until then I was all hip hop and R&B. And as for as hard or not so hard it depends on my mood, sometimes I like hard sometimes I dont. American and Japanese Rock bands that I do like, and I mean REALLY like not MEH like like D'espa are:

Dir en Grey
Kaggra,
Miyavi
Malice Mizer
Judy and Mary
The Brilliant Green
Linkin Park
The Beatles
Rolling Stones
Jemi Hendrix
Green Day
Nirvana
The Gorillaz
White Stripes
Edit: Bands I forgot
L'arc~en~Ciel/Hyde Solo
Gackt
Hole
Maroon 5
The Killers
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
X-Japan
hide

Those are bands that I absolutely love, then there are alot of other musicians that I either like one or two songs, or I feel like Whatever like D'espairsRay. So maybe that can help you.

Poison Ivy: lol, good thinking about the skirt!
And I love the live of smilies!

Nana: Make you an uber D'espa fan? If Forbidden can't do it, I'm sure I would fail... ☝

nana007: It really depends on what you like about their music. i can't simply make you an uber fan unless i know what you like. i know that i love the way Hizumi screams. and that i love them more and more as i see their dorkiness and listen to more of their music. xD and i 'might' make it to the Avalon show. i hope i can. i missed all their concerts cuz by the time i found out they toured US, they were gone back to Japan..

PoisonIVY: eeps ;( i hope it won't be 21+.. lol. i'll only be 20 by then ><

The music, the lyrics, and Hizumi's vocals are all great. And the energy they have is amazing plus they are all utterly perverted . I am not saying turn me into something that I am not and Its not like I need to have my mind changed since I already have some interest in them. But like I said earlier even though I have interest It not major love for them. But I have been hearing a lot of good things about this band, and I want to expand my knowledge of them, thats why I want to go to the New York concert, but I also before the New York concert know a little bit more of them music wise. Every one says try Garnet and Forbidden which I tried and I love, and the Coll:Set album while its not a fav I do like. But what other songs are there besides those two most websites are just like "OMG they are so cute and they do lots of fanservice and are perveted and Hizumi looks so Hawt oh and by the way try Garnet" So what other songs, are good.

Nana, just look at my avatar, how could you not absolutely love D'espairsRay when their guitarist has that face AND that thumb! Haha, j/k. Seriously though, if Coll:set didn't do it for ya, I don't know what would. My favorite song on that album is In Vain, but I really love all of the songs on the album, I think they're some of D'espa's best work. That being said, I could upload some songs for you that seem to be 'popular' favorites I guess, like Maverick or Reddish -diva version- (does anyone know why the heck that song is the "diva version"? I mean, is there a "regular version"? Before I knew the title of that song I used to semi-rock out to it, but now everytime I hear it I feel the urge to sashe (spelling?) and pretend to walk down a runway... or maybe I'm just weird. I still love the song though.), and one of my fave D'espa songs is Gothic, but that's a bit weird for some people. Actually, I can listen straight through D'espa's entire discography without skipping anything, I honestly love ALL of their songs. Hmm, I'll upload some stuff in a few for you.

I'm traveling ENTIRELY to far to see D'espa, but it'll be worth it I'm sure.

I really like the song yste[M].
I also love Mousouhekina Egoist.
And, Tatoeba kimi... ga... shinda... ra...
As well as the ones already mentioned/upped.
I haven't time to upload them now, but I can do tomorrow if you like!

I guess my music tastes are different than most (besides Erica's) cause I can't stand the song Forbidden! It is the only song by Despa I can say I hate, and mean it! Even now thinking of the riff I am like AHHH NO! I love Abel to Cain, one of the best songs ever. (I have probably said that in this thread a few times LOL) I have over 50 Despa songs, I'd have no idea which ones to choose to upload!

Gothic is a good song, it's funny cause the sound is so gothic! lol

This has nothing to do with anything here, but Japan I guess... Tiffany we had Akasaka tonight for Erica's birthday. That RICE haha it's so good. I had the wafuu steak again. It brought back memories of the old business men at the resturant, and the towels on the table LOL.

I can up those to if ya want me to as well. I LOVE Mousouhekina Egoist and it's ...um, heavy breathing, haha!

Sorry for the double post.

@ poison: Aw, Akasaka sounds good, we should eat there everytime I come up. We should take our little 'trip to Japan' everytime I come to visit. Haha, we're so weird.

Yeah. That's why I love it.
And Abel to Caine is... *dies*.
I adore Infection and In Vain, too.
And yes, I have always wondered about the ~DIVA version~ thing. I thought I had all D'espairsRay songs but was missing something...

Ah, I love Akasaka!
we have a japanese restraunt by our new house called Osaka....they have my favorite food there...mochi icecream...mmm...*dead*
haha..sorry

Thanks Sunsweet. Also which concert are you going to be going to. I have plans as of this moment to go to the one in NY. But that might change, and also that concert is also very far out of the way for me also 4hours and I would have to take a day off from work. But I cursed myself for missing the VA concert, although I really coudn't help it and the other concert I couldn't get off from work. But this time I WILL GO.
