lmao I don't think I can pronounce 'Japanophiles' XD
I agree when non-Japanese ppl start giving themselves Japanese names, that really starts to annoy me....I have these 'friends' that think Japan is the only place for them. They gave eachother Japanese names, pretend to be Japanese anime characters, play english games in Japanese (like red-light green-light) and argue using Japanese words and insults. They buy EVERYTHING Japanese, even if they don't like that kind of stuff, it's insanely expensive, and it's a whole load of crap. But what annoys me the most, is when they come cosplaying to Japanese class, and go on these crazy cosplay 'photoshoots' downtown. It seriously drives me crazy.

lmao I know what you mean! I know some people, where if they meet someone Japanese, all of the sudden they like them more, even if the person's an a-hole. They think that if they go to Japan, all these hot J-rockers are gonna pop out of nowhere.
 
Haha, you're so damn mean;p Let them do what they want. I really don't care if they like us that much^^ I don't think Dir en grey or D'espairsRay really care about cute little fangirls who want to be like them, they only care about making good music and hoping that people like it. A lot of bands stopped using visual kei because they only care about their music nowadays. I doesn't really matter what they look like if they make good music.

One of my Japanse friends who also uses visual kei and listens to jrock calls most of the jrock fans for jtards;p He thinks most western people misunderstand jrock and visual kei. One of the things that most people don't understand is that visual bands don't walk around leike reita on the street, hahahhah;p He doesn't look like that on a regular day, not hitsugi either

I'm surprised you'd find many of them on the Dir en grey forum, since Dir en grey are a lot like D'espairsRay.

But yes, I'm glad they aren't in this forum!

I really hate them though, they know nothing of Japanese culture, only the pop culture.
 
I agree with MissMurder. But one thing they have in common is that they are not meant to be a band for a "OMFG kawaiiiii desu"-audience. And that's really the only thing I can think of right now.

I'm confused...
I know music-wise Dir en grey and D'espairsRay differ, but I meant they are the same as in image, lyrics, fanbase etc. they have a similar fanbase...from what I've seen. So I'm surprised there are a lot of fangirls in the Dir en grey forum, and not this one.
But I bet it's probably because Dir en grey are more well-known than D'espairsRay.

has Despa announced any new releases for any time soon? as far as I know mirror was their last release and that was in april

all I have heard is that they're going to release a new album next year.
 
man...if they release a new DVD I won't be able to buy it
 
Ooookay, to recap:

~New DVD, Spiral Staircase #15 Final, releases on Sept. 5. The preorder is already up on HMV.

~there are no set dates, but according to recent interviews, they're aiming to have a new single out after their tour in Japan is over, which ends at the end of October.

~under the same circumstances, they say they want to have a new album out next year.

And that's all that is known at the moment.

The tracklist isn't known yet; I'll try to post it here once it is.

Whatever ends up on it, though, I'm always excited to see pieces of the tours they do in Japan that I otherwise wouldn't be able to see. X3

That's true. There are 3 different links and all have different releases. For example the one that lists the new DVD only lists MaVerick as other releases.

They should really publish the track list....^^
 
ah......CD Japan doesn't even show a list with a DVD on it......it just shows most of their CDs, up to Mirror...... I wonder if I'm doing something wrong........

haha, that's what me and Kallima were talking about. If you search for D'espairsRay, three different links will pop up. When you click the bottom one, it has the page for Spiral Staircase shoved in with the (now-useless) link for MaVERiCK. Because that makes a lot of sense. XD

@kallima- (from a while ago now XD) yea i find that really interesting too! i really think the socialogy of the japanese is facinating XD makes me glad i didnt grow up there though...

@Amita- O__O i'm sorry. there's no one like that where i live, luckily, but then again, there's no one who likes anything japanese where i live XD

@EarthlyBeauty- yea @_@ i wouldnt expect it of Dir en grey either, but i guess its because of their REALLY old image... and then how it's easier to be an overseas fan because they are now doing a lot of touring outside japan... and they just have a bunch of cultishness around kyo during lives etc... im sure theres more but this is the wrong section to be talking about it XD and wapanese i like that one too

@Sw33t- sometimes i do agree that one should be able to do what one wants, but when it starts ruining the experiances of others... it stops being ok, you know? thats my philosophy on most things too, like religion and such. but there have been many instances where fangirls and the like go too far, such as ripping hizumi off the stage in florida... possibly keeping despa from ever coming back to that state and endangering him. but that's my opinion, i guess

releases ^______________^ im really excited... im guessing the footage on the dvd is from tours in japan, right? im not sure if i can buy it, since i had to spend all my money on gas/food/etc the last week because my friend lived with me to escape her parents. >_> woot for friends ~_~
