HAPPY BIRTHDAY SW33T!!!

WELCOME TO NEW PEOPLE!!!

DESPA IS AMAZ-SOME!!!

yea i feel a little lost after not being on here for a while >.>

I'm back^^...finally xDD

first of all:
HAPPY (BELATED) BIRTHDAY TO SW33T AND ZERO!!!!!!

second:
I'm sorry but I didn't start yet with the translations of the interviews...but now that I don't have to translate the AnCafe one I'll do the ones of Despa^^

third:
welcome to all the new members!!!!
hope you all enjoy your stay here!!!!!

@michiko
ahh a new single and DVD sounds great!! although I probably won't have enough money to buy it

@MissMurder
thank you very much for the Animal Mania song!!!
it's a real cool song!!!

It's live footage and some backstage stuff.

BlackSoul - yeah, I'm a bit worried about actually having any money for it...but I'll make it work out somehow. XD

Yeah, but they still play old stuff. They play "Tatoeba" kimi...ga...shin da...ra, -Gensyoku-, Murder Freaks, and Fascism on Liquidize, and if you watch the extras they play Monokuro ni natta saigo no hi. Also, in an issue of Shoxx from 2006 which shows the setlist of a bunch of the dates from the Liquidize tour, Animal Mania was played on September 8 2006. So really, it's not unrealistic at all to hope for some older tracks to have been performed during Spiral Staircase and then recorded for the DVD.

I really don't care about their alter ego. Their regular music is so damn good that I almost prefer them over all the other bands I listen to. Like dir en grey, mucc, nightmare, mucc, an cafe, kagerou, ayabie, gazette, plastic tree, miyavi and some more that I can't think of right now;p coll;set and mirror are probably my favourite jrock albums, they are fuking awesomeness. And they're all hot^^ Btw gotta love Tsusaka in this picture

hot!^^

hehe ^_^ true dat... despa is definately in my top 5... they're one of the bands i would probably kill people to see in concert again XD ... >_> no seriously...

Despa has an interview up at jrockrevolution.com now i think ^_^ something new i learned: despa like Bjork O_O

a quote from the interview reguarding future releases:
JRR: What are some of your future plans?
D'espairsRay: We are planning to for to Finland, Spain, and Sweden for a tour. Then we are going back to Japan for a tour. We will release a single at the end of this tour and begin working at the studio for our album being released next year.

yaaaaay! thats a little ways off, but just the though of another album makes me all giddy

Oh shpt they're coming to Sweden again? Awesomeness, I missed them last time;'( My friend Hiro got Tsukasas drum sticks when they were here before^^

Seriously, D'espairsRay are such an amazing and talented band, that I sometimes wonder why most listeners also listen to way poppier & meaningless bands like Antic Cafe and Ayabie...just my opinion btw.

I mean, no other band in the Visual Kei scene can really compare, because D'espairsRay are so much more than that. Their music and lyrics are actually well thought-out, and I can actually take the music seriously.

I think if someone listens to music this incredibly beautiful, they're pretty shallow if they'll also listen to Japanese crap such as Jpop and Antic Cafe.
That is because, after finding D'espairsRay, does any other band really compare? I think not!

Some people just seem to listen to ANYTHING Japanese...
Though I can understand that in some situations, you just need something different. You cannot always listen to the same kind of music. I love Tango and old Rock'n'Roll for example. xD
It's just the "oh, Japanese - it must be good, I have to listen to it" - attitude of some people that I can't understand.

I listen to D'espairsRay and AnCafe...am I evil incarnate? No, I just enjoy all sort of music...does that make me a fool? No, I have many tastes when it comes to music, sometimes I like badass dark brooding rock like Despa, and sometimes I'm in the mood for fun, cool, uplifting AnCafe...(oh and just because antikku arent screaming there heads off about things like death and depression does not make them meaningless) why people are so damn uptight about this **** I dont know...everyone has their own tastes some people like apples, some like oranges, some even incredibly like both WOW! no it cant be that, they just like them for there looks...bullshit, lay off already...

I'd have to say my favorite band is....

Alice Nine
the GazettE
LM.C
Miyavi
Abingdon Boys School
Merry
Mucc
Penicillin
Machine
D'espairsRay
Girugamesh
Ayabie
Gackt
Hyde
L'arc-en-Ciel
Moi Dix Mois
Malice Mizer
Due'Le Quartz
Janne Da Arc
Acid Black Cherry
DuelJewel
Vidoll
Juka
Uverworld
Nightmare
X Japan
Luna Sea
Pierrot
Dir en Grey
Glay
Hide
12012
Sadie
Screw
Skull
Phantasmagoria
Plastic Tree

yes I love all these bands, because each and every one of them has something different and special to offer

I think Antic Cafe is cute...and I really don't mind their music. Everyone has a different opinion about music and not everyone likes the same style of music. I listen to some J-pop bands and enjoy them, but others I hate. I also listen to J-rock bands, but some I hate.
I agree with Nan Desu Ka.... music would get boring for me if I listened to all the same thing...Many bands being different means that I can discover many more different styles of music and truly know what I actually like and what I dislike instead of following what's 'in' and what isn't.

@ Nan Desu Ka woah that's a long list....but I guess my list is pretty long too...I don't have a favourite band.....it's gotten far too hard for me to pick one.....
hmmm.....what happens if you don't like apples AND oranges? XD

@ Sw33t that's a really good picture of Tsukasa!!!

I listen to an cafe and d'espairsray, even though they're so different. The only jpop I like is gackt, miyavi and an cafe, even though miyavi and an cafe are jrock too. But there are a lot of jrock bands that I don't like. And I'm already tired of Yomi's voice from nightmare. I listen to what I like, I don't listen to something because I want something different. I listen to something it if I like it. All the people I know who listen to jrock also listen to a lot of other bands that aren't jrock. I just think it's gay to only listen to jrock, it's like you do it for no reason whatsoever. You listen to what you like.

That's so true. There shouldn't be any reason for listening to music other than actually liking it.

yupyup

btw what's this about a DVD being released???? When??? Which live????

May 13th live will be on the DVD and it will be released on September 5th

It's just the "oh, Japanese - it must be good, I have to listen to it" - attitude of some people that I can't understand.
Yes, exactly. I mean, if people actually like different kinds of music, that's just wonderful.

But the majority of J-rock fans I've seen, aren't really like that. They'll just all the sudden listen to any genre, just because the artist is Japanese.

Now that, is just wrong.

^the scientific name is "japanophiles" XD and yes, there are quite a few of them in this fandom @_@ i especially hate it when whiteys (like myself XD) give themselves japanese names and say "ne" after everything... and "kawaii"... and "neko"... and "desu"... >__> and those that dont accept that japan is imperfect just like every other country and has some serious issues in its collective unconcious...

luckily, there arent as many japanophiles in the despa fandom... i personally tend to find them in the Dir en grey, gazette, miyavi, and an cafe fandoms the most (there are more too, but these are the ones i notice... and this doesnt mean all or even a majority in any of these fandoms, either ^_^)

Oh yes! This habit annoys me soooooo much! They also begin all their sentences with "ano" and tend to believe that every single Japanese boy/man looks good ("kawaii"). In their imagination, all their problems will disappear if they go to Japan 'cause it's the perfect country with perfect people and the perfect music. And another phenomenon: No one will ever confess the last part although you can read it through everything they write.
