I was offered a position to teach English in Japan, but accepting a job sight unseen worries me about where I'll ultimately end up. I was given a location preference and was told that I'll be in Fukuoka, but where in Fukuoka I have no idea. If I choose to accept the job and come to Japan, but find myself not enjoying the employer or the schools, am I allowed to quit and stay in Japan? I haven't signed any contract yet, but I believe I will sign one within 5 days of arriving.

Ask to see the contract, or at least a copy, and get them to pay for accomadation while you are settling in since they do not know where you will be (3 weeks should cover it).
