Normally when you purchase electric appliances or AV products, you receive a guarantee card along with the product you buy. The card should show the date of purchase, and usually the shop who sold the goods to you stamps the card.
Most products are guaranteed for 1-2 years and if you have problems with the product, you can get it repaired (or replaced when it is beyond repair) under warranty, free of charge.
Usually it is not the shop that sold the product but the manufacturer who holds the responsibility for the quality and takes care of the problems you have.
Therefore the reaction you got from the shop is normal. You cannot bring back the product with problems to the shop and get refund/repairment.
You have to contact with the manufacturer's customer service with your guarantee card and model name, serial No., etc.
Is there any friends or colleagues who can help contact with the manufacturer in Japanese?
