I thought this movie was great but the action sequences could use a more "action". Been wanting to buy this movie and finally bought it on my trip.
 
it's not a film i've ever heard of...but i will look out for it if it is as good as you say!
 
There's a thread about Casshern - only I can't find it anymore... Err, but I DO remember posting on it. Casshern is a great movie, very special and very beautiful. I love the actionscenes - those are actually what makes this movie great! There should be more scenes like the fighting scenes in it!
 
I got my gf to buy it for me when she went home to japan over the holiday. She came back with the 'Ultimate Edition' which i was quite happy about.

What an amazing film, i do think the action in it could of been increased. What action there was though was very impressive. I found it had a very good hidden message, whether or not this was intended i dont know but it certainly made me think.
 
Casshern looks SO awsome. i bought the DVD a few days ago ^_^. Should be here any time.

I have the DVD also. Not a bad film on the whole but a bit weak in some parts. I did find it to be entertaining enough to recommend it to my friends though. Worth viewing at least once.
 
I have just bought and watched Casshern. not bad, although a bit disjointed at times. I liked the way that virtually each scene had its own little piece of music with it. For a film that is 142 mins long, it doesn't really drag. Nice and would recommend anyone interested in seeing Japanese Sci-fi. Not for your average Hollywood film lover though.
 
I think it's a well done anime-style live action movie, but i've got to agree on some weak points here and there. It was very stylistic, and some of the themes throughout the film were very interesting to ponder. One line roughly translated to "if we get another chance at life, what's the point in living to the fullest?" (or something along those lines, i saw it sometime last year) which I thought was an interesting line.

This was the main impression I got. It had more of the atmosphere of anime than live-action. It was OK, but not as good as I had hoped when I saw the trailer.
 
I have that DVD. It looks amazing, but it's a bit style over substance.
 
Yup, great visuals but lacking in the story department and just not a very interesting movie besides the look.


Love the music and soundtrack though.
 
i thought the movie was quite out there, but overall it looked good, good characters one of the best japanese movies i've seen.
 
I just watched it for the first time tonight. I thought it was incredible. Whenever the story ran a bit weak, the music and visuals made up for it. I already passed it on to my son to watch...and he'll tell 2 friends, and so on...
Now I'm off to buy the soundtrack. I'm going to need a second job soon.
 
Best Japanese movie i ever saw, it was really amazing me and some friends we watched the DVD at a hug plasma here at my place, it was very nicely done except the black and white colour battles and flashback's, but it was very nice! i still enjoyed it and the soundtrack is still on n°1 at the moment!
