At the same time. The writer of the sentence is describing a time when he was going through memories that he had, and during this, or at the same time he could not experience the feelings of loss. Hope that I described that well enough.

I would think "though" would fit better, but I guess it would depend on whether the speaker was talking about the present or the past. "Though" could mean either past or present, but "as" or "at the same time as" would imply that it was happening in the present.

Jus at the idiom "even as" can mean either "at the same time as" or "even though," I thought "as" could mean the both.

Any of those could be used in that sentence and mean about the same thing. "Even as" seems to add more emphasis on the fact that "I still couldn't experience the feelings of loss".
