The empty houses are really bad as you go farther south in Japan. The thing is that the schools are lacking kids and teachers are hard to get.

I know if I was 40 I'd be checking into these types of homes. Having a child of age at that time would make it possible. As I get older I would really like to have some land to farm and raise some chickens. Can always sell the eggs.

I have fond memories of hiking around the Chichibu-Okutama area.
