A few problems...

Hello.

1- As I continue with my learning I found something pretty weird.

これは世界保健機関（ＷＨＯ）の基準に従った。

As my translation:

"This is the World Health Organization (WHO) standard/basis followed."

Is it right?
Couldn't it be the use of "to be followed" instead of "followed"?

2- Another one:

"食品の放射線新基準、どう決めた？"

"New standard for food radiation, how to decide?"

How can I spell 新? Would the sentence be:

"しょくひんのほうしゃせんしんきじゅん、どうきめる?"

Is it "wrong" to use か and "?" in the same sentence or should I only use one?

3- Use of ninaru or naru.

これが他の食品からの被曝限度になる。

I don't have a real translation since I couldn't find the separation of the "words".

度になる or 限度になる?
I really don't know the use of 他.

I know how to use から but からの I really don't know.

Could you please help me?

Right. That's しん.

You can't say どう決めたか as a direct quote, i.e., in real conversation. The form must be どう決めたんですか/どう決めましたか(polite), どう決めたの(casual) or like that. If the form is correct, you can use か and "？" in the same time, of course.

That's simply "から＋の".

これが従うべきWHOの基準だ。/従うべきWHOの基準はこれだ。
(lit. This is the WHO standard you/we have to follow.)

Sorry Toritoribe but I still really don't understand the difference between
"This followed the WHO standard." and "This is the World Health Organization (WHO) standard/basis followed."
Is it possible to explain why your sentence is right and mine is not? Something about grammar? I'm only asking you because I don't want to make this kind of mistake again.

Here's a piece of the article:

そのうえで、飲み水は１リットルあたり放射性セシウム１０ベクレルと決めた。これは世界保健機関（ＷＨＯ）の基準に従った。この１０ベクレルの水を１日２リットル１年間飲み続けるとすると、体が受ける放射線の量は約０．１ミリシーベルトになる。全体の限度１ミリシーベルトから飲料水分の０．１ミリシーベルトを差し引くと０．９ミリシーベルト。これが他の食品からの被曝限度になる。

Then, it doesn't seem the problem of the Japanese sentence. The two Engilish sentences are completely different, don't you think so?

Of course I do, but the point is: How can I know when the translation is the first or the second?

これはWHOの基準に従った。
これが～WHOの基準だ。

Does it make sense now? In the first sentence, これ is something that followed the standard. In the second sentence, これ is the WHO standard itself.

The important part here is は and the verb.

僕はボールを投げた。
I threw the ball.

これが投げたボールだ。
This is the (thrown) ball.

Yeah, plus, the particles (e.g. に) and the order of the words.

これは基準に従った。
This followed the standard.

これが従った基準だ。
This is the standard I followed.

I think my doubts were about the use or not of だ or ですand how it can make a lot of difference.

I still don't really understand totally well but as soon as I get involved with the language, I think it's going to be ok.
