Hello. I'm a 26 year old truck driver in south Louisiana. I live just outside of New Orleans.

I started studying Japanese on my own about a month ago, although I've been into Anime and Japanese film for a long time.

I decided to try to pick up the language at first just to watch movies without subtitles. I wanted to pick up another language and Japanese was the only one I was interested in on more than one level. Spanish, Chinese, or Vietnamese would make more sense for me. But I've never been one to make a lot of sense. That's why I like pancakes. But now I've started thinking of going there at least for a vacation in a couple years. Maybe to stay if I can work it out. Dunno yet.

I am a member of Japanesepod101.com and so far have been happy there. I just started trying to learn kanji about a week ago. I'm using Heisig's RTK to learn to write. At the time of this post I'm at 352 Kanji. I also collect other kanji and compounds along with my vocabulary words. Kanji is a motherlover.

I'm a musician and a movie fanatic. My dog Rebel is my best friend. Which is why I have so much free time to spend learning Japanese.

Okay. Long intro. Now for some reason I've got a craving for pancakes... mmm... syrup... ooh... with an egg. ☝
