I searched Jref for this artist, but found nothing. So I thought I'd ask around.
I saw this video/heard the song a couple nights ago. PONPONPON

It is usually not the type of music I listen to.
I generally do not care for sugar-high pop music.
But I found myself listening to this song a bunch.
Maybe because all my coworkers listen to is US-based "oldies" almost everyday.
....and the English line "you make me happy"
(Not knowing what the Japanese was she was singing)

Plus the video is somewhat humerous and reminds me a little bit of
something Bjork might do. Bjork is rad, even though I "own" none of her music.

I found the lyrics in romaji with English translation.

Sometimes if a song appears or is about a relationship...
but isn't necessarily direct about it and some of the lyrics
out of context don't necessarily mean that. I often make up my own meaning
for them.

Does the "pon" in this song really mean "clap"?

In my Kenkyuushya no eiwa jiten (for English speakers learning Japanese), it does not have "pon" for "clap" either as a direct word or as the 'sound'

I would also like to note that she reminds me a bit of Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga had a meat dress.
Kyari Pamyu Pamyu had a stuffed toy outfit. (in one pic I saw online back when I first did this thread)
Plus the music of both of them is of the recent popular music trend of electronic music.
