Tenryō Junmai Daiginjō Gifu Kuzō (純米大吟醸 岐阜九蔵) is part of the "Gifu Kuzō" project undertaken by nine Gifu breweries aiming to the prefecture. Each of the participating breweries creates sake with its own particular characteristics, but it is based on the concept of Junmai and made from locally grown rice. Tenryō's Junmai Daiginjō is made of Hidahomare sake rice, famous for its crisp, deep flavour. It can be served cold, but warming it makes the aroma even more delicious.

Tenryō Brewery is located in Gero in Gifu Prefecture. It was founded in 1680 and is run as a family business to this day. The founder hailed from Omi-Hino (近江日野, modern-day Hino City in Shiga Prefecture) and was a vassal of Gamo Ujisato. He set up a store in Hida for business and, fascinated by the beauty of the locality, settled there, starting to produce sake and trading other goods. In the Meiji period, sake brewing became the family's main business, and in 1958, the brewery was incorporated as "Tenryo Shuzō Co., Ltd.". The brewery uses special rice called Hidahomare and Yamada Nishiki to a smaller extent. Hidahomare is cultivated by local farmers in paddy fields at the foot of the Northern Alps. "Hinoya" is a brand established to commemorate the 340th anniversary of the brewery's founding.

Tenryō's version of the Gifu Kuzō Junmai Daiginjō presents a delightful harmony of moderate richness and an enchanting fragrance. With an alcohol content poised at 14%, it offers a crisp yet profound flavour profile, courtesy of the esteemed Hidahomare rice. While it is thoroughly enjoyable when served chilled, allowing it to warm gently unfurls an even more exquisite aromatic bouquet, enhancing the overall tasting experience.
