This is the sweet version of Hakutsuru's Daiginjo. When we tried it, it was still marketed as Daiginjō Amakuchi, now it's called "Sweet Edition" (白鶴 大吟醸 SWEET EDITION 甘口). And it's no lie! This sake is SWEET, and a daiginjo nonetheless. However, it is gentle umami you'll notice before getting that sweet mouthful. Very elegant, and recommended to drink chilled. It is best paired with savoury and spicier food. Definitely elegant.
