Karamon Gate

The Karamon Gate (唐門), also called Chokushimon (勅使門); karamon refers to a gate with a gently curved gable, kara-hafu (唐破風). The Karamon has very elaborate carvings. It was constructed in 1839 and served as the gate for imperial envoys.
