Do you remember The Kids In The Hall, the Canadian comedy troup? They had a show on Comedy Central in the 90s and I used to watch it all the time.
Some of the members has since gone on to "solo" careers. You may remember Dave Foley who starred in the semi-popular sitcom "NEWS RADIO" as well as lending his voice for some Disney/Dreamworks animated feature. Mark McInney was a cast member of "Saturday Night Live", which was produced by Lorne Micheals who also produced the Kids In The Hall show, for a couple of seasons.
Anyway, there was this one skit where the guys play a bunch of school-age girls in a bedroom looking at a scrapbook full of pictures of "boys" all giggly and stuff. The skit was titled "Who's The Cutest Boy On Death Row!?" They were like, "Ooohhh~ I like THIS one!" "Yeah....he has nice eyes...". OK, it WAS really funny at the time. lol
What reminded me of that skit was this thread titled "The Most Beautiful J-Rocker Eyes". Yes, I kind of creep myself out checking out threads about these androgynous pretty-boys, but there was no other new post to read so I said to myself, "Why not? Who DOES have the most beautiful eyes?". Well, see for yourselves. These girls are deeply disturbe....no, I mean, dedicated.
In the poll attached to it, the eyes that belong to the VERY popular J-Rocker, Miyavi, are described as "...sexy and playful/flirty[in a good way of course!]". According to the poll, Miyavi seems to be the fave among our J-Rockerite members, with Hyde and Gackt close behind.
As I write this, there have been 217 posts(!) on this thread. I've skimmed through most of the posts and you know what? They do not go off topic! They do not talk about so-and-so's new single. They do not talk about this cute boy in their class who looks like Hyde. They talk about EYES. They even go deep into HOW these J-Rockers achieve their "eye-looks". Some expand on how to get "double creases" while others talk about who has what done to their eyes. There even is a full-blown flaming war between posters about whose eyes are more beautiful!
I miss The Kids In The Hall... The chance of finding their DVDs in Japan is slim, though. As someone suggested to me today, I probably should look for them on youTube.
Another favorite skit from them of mine was Bruce McCulloch as the teenage singing sansation, TAMMY!! Any of you know what I'm talking about!?
