A bit concise, but interesting

According to your answers, your political philosophy is left-liberal.

Left-Liberal
Left-Liberals prefer self-government in personal matters and central decision-making on economics. They want government to serve the disadvantaged in the name of fairness. Leftists tolerate social diversity, but work for economic equality.
I love to know where I stand. :D

This is kind of neat.

It also says that I'm left-liberal. My personal self-government score is 80% and my economic self-government is 40%.

Heh, it would appear we have much in common Kirei
My scores were:
"Your Personal Self-Government Score is 80%."
"Your Economic Self-Government Score is 30%."

In reality though, I think I tend to be more of a centrist leaning slightly to the left. Neat quiz though, kinda fun.

I am on the border of left-liberal and libertarian, with just 100% for personal SG score and 50% for economic SG.

That fits me. I used to be more libertarian a few years ago though.

Conservative
Right-conservatives prefer self-government on economic issues, but want official standards in personal matters. They want the government to defend the community from threats to its moral fiber.

Your Personal Self-Government Score is 20%.
Your Economic Self-Government Score is 60%.

Your Personal Self-Government Score is 50%.
Your Economic Self-Government Score is 20%.
Centrist-Centrists favor selective government intervention and emphasize practical solutions to current problems. They tend to keep an open mind on new issues. Many centrists feel that government serves as a check on excessive liberty.
What is kind of interesting is that by changing one answer by one degree I become a socialist! That might be fun :)

Libertarians are self-governors in both personal and economic matters. They believe government's only purpose is to protect people from coercion and violence. They value individual responsibility, and tolerate economic and social diversity.

Your Personal Self-Government Score is 80%.

Authoritarians want government to advance society and individuals through expert central planning. They often doubt whether self-government is practical. Left-authoritarians are also called socialists, while fascists are right-authoritarians.
The red dot is on the right side on the map >_<;;

Seems I prefer the tried and true facist ways~_~

As 6 of you have had 80% for the Personal Self-Government score. may I ask to which question you answer "no" ?

Here are the questions :

1) Military service should be voluntary. (No draft)

2) Government should not control radio, TV, the press or the Internet.

3) Repeal regulations on sex for consenting adults.

4) Drug laws do more harm than good. Repeal them.

5) People should be free to come and go across borders; to live and work where they choose.

I guess 3 or 4 are more subject to discussion than the others...

The No Factor

I answered no for the drug laws statement, which thinking about it now, I should've said yes about that one too. I think the reason I said no in the first place was that I've had lots of bad experiences with drugs first-hand and have really seen what they're capable of. Drugs are definitely not good for anyone. Not like the government can really control them with laws, though--the government will always do what's best for them concerning anything--but I think I was thinking that if they really could control drugs, it might help things. Government sponsored treatment would help a lot too, I believe, instead of putting someone in prison for selling a quarter bag of marijuana. Of course, along with that, they need to control the guns too, but that won't happen anytime soon, either. *sigh* :cautious:

Actually in order to get 80% you had to answer Y on all and N on one OR M on two and Y on the others. In my case, I'm not sure about (4). I don't think repealing all drug laws is a good idea. For (1) I don't think a draft is a good idea, however, some sort of mandatory service to one's country I think is not a bad idea. For (5) I don't think completely open borders is a good idea, not in today's world anyway.

If memory serves, I answered no to the following:

2) "Government should not control radio, TV, the press or the Internet."

No surprise here as I tend to be a huge free-speech advocate. I may have also answered "maybe" (don't remember) re: whether or not military service should be voluntary as I also feel conscription has been very effective on many levels in other countries and might not be such a bad idea here in the States.

I think they meant that by answering "yes" you agree with the statement, so that you don't want the gov. to control the press.
It's logicl since "yes" means your are more liberal.
This question was confusing. They should write "agree" or "disagree" rather than "yes" or "no".
Iron Chef, your score should thus be 100% for personal SG.

Apparently I'm a left-liberal, whatever that means.

Kind of a useless quiz really, but not a bad way to waste a couple minutes.
