I'm looking for the Japanese language pack for Winamp version 2.91.
I thought I found something but this requieres a Japanese OS and I don't think it would be very wise to switch :D

Can anybody help me out, because I would really like to see the Japanese characters instead of gibberish :(

Hi! You have to download a new version of Winamp: the 5.3 on the URL

http://download.nullsoft.com/winamp/client/winamp503_pro.exe

Then, you can download a serices pack plug inns here:

http://www.winamp.com/plugins/browse.php?ctype=P&category=9

If you have a problem, contact me privately. 🍜

Hmm... though it seems from that list, there isn't any language packs for Japanese. I've seen it done to Winamp, though it required some third-party program and it had errors and stuff (though fixable with certain actions).

How do Japanese people play music on their pc? They don't/can't use Winamp? What music program can handle Japanese characters?

Actually, I know more Japanese people that use WinAmp than Windows Media Player. There is a plug-in available that will change everything (including menu's) to a Japanese-friendly environment.

Check out Win32工作小屋 for more info.

Believe it or not, they usually use Media Player.

I tried to get my fiance to use different players that wouldn't hog all of her PC resources and she would have none of it.

The Japanese are bleating sheep when it comes to PCs and Microsoft.
