This might be a little personal I guess, so I don't blame you for hating me because of this . lol. I don't know if there are different parties in different countries, so you can just say other and then explain what your party is or what you believe in i guess. I just want to know what everyone's point of view is that's all.

Oh, about my party. I'm not legal age to vote, but if I was I would mainly be republican. I would sometimes vote for other parties,but not often.

umm... I actually don't know what I should say, but I just post, cause this thread looks so empty... ^^

other because i choose not to limit myself to one particular party or another. i try to go by induvidual canidates and their views on issues that are important to me.

Should I break my pledge ??

During the Viet Nam War, I saw first hand how our government said one thing and did something totally different. As a young person who thought America could do no wrong, I was really upset. I pledged to myself to never vote or to have anything to do with politics. For over thirty years I've stuck to that promise I made then and it has caused me a lot of grief . Should I go to my grave as a Non-Voter ??

Frank,

Voting and voicing one's opinion is power, and as you will recall, the government wasn't allowed to continue in the Vietnam war very long once more and more people spoke up in protest to the war. So much of the Vietnam war was kept secret from those of us back home, and it's only when information came out and people started protesting that we were finally able to put a stop to it. It's still a personal decision, but why not value your power to make a difference? Of course, having said that, look at what happened to our votes in this last so-called "election!" We have an Administration that strong-armed its way into office!! But I don't think that's any reason to let them continue to get away with it. Just means more of us need to speak up. Keeping quite is exactly what they would like us to do! Bush & Co. hasn't been able to do as much as they have wanted strictly due to public protest (they wanted to do a lot worse than they have so far!). So I say speak up for what you believe and stand for, and value your right to do so!!! It is, after all, one of the freedoms you were fighting for. :)

That's the same with me. I do tend to look at waht one believes in, but I usually agree with the republican side. ^^;

America is a country of the people, by the people, and for the people. You have this great oppurtunity to voice your opinion of what happens in this country.You shouldn't sit by and watch as things happen that you dont want them to happen. It doesn't seem like your vote will matter much, but in the end it will.
