Whether you are liberal, conservative or somewhere inbetween, between these two main general political stances how would you describe yourself on them ^_^ ?

As for me i would say i am a very liberal person, not necessarily PC, but definitely very liberal. Mostly because it just feels right to me- it feels natural. And because it feels natural to me to be liberal, i am very happy in my stance. I think there are a lot of people which label themselves as liberal, but are not necessarily this by nature but rather because it is what some society expects of them. I respect conservative peoples beliefs like i mutually respect a lot of peoples beliefs, but i wouldn't call myself a traditionalist etc.

Some definitions;
Conservatism is a political and social term from the Latin verb conservare meaning to save or preserve. As the name suggests it usually indicates support for tradition and traditional values though the meaning has changed in different countries and time periods.
A person whose political philosophy is generally based on tradition and social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to abrupt change etc. Right Wing.

Liberalism;
Having political or social views favoring reform and progress.
Tolerant of change; not bound by authoritarianism, orthodoxy, or tradition. A person who favors a political philosophy of progress and reform and the protection of civil liberties. Left wing.
Etc.

I used to think I was liberal, but that's not true. I support progress, however unorthodox, but I want to vomit blood whenever I'm faced with the moralistic rubbish that a large number of liberal politicians spout. Since moralistic rubbish is something liberals share with conservatives, I hate most conservative political figures as well. I hate Labour and I hate the Conservative Party, Republicans, Democrats, from Hitler to Gandhi and from Stalin to Nelson Mandela, all of them. It pains me that the orientation 'Pragmatic' is yet to be added to the political spectrum. It is my view that a great many tenets to be found throughout the political spectrum are based on laughable arbitrary **** people have dreamt up. If I would have to come up with a label, I'd call myself bitter and disillusioned, even though that is not an orthodox political stance, not that it bothers me greatly.

The above may be viewed as inflammatory, but I will not qualify it with meaningless phrases such as 'No offence intended.' or 'I respect your views as a fellow human being.' I don't respect peoples' views. I have no idea what respect means. Seeing how it can serve as a verb, I would presume it would involve doing something or the act of not doing it. I fear acceptable clarification is not forthcoming and I also suspect that it is not possible to respect the views one disagrees with. Either way, I don't respect the views of those that are to voice said views after me, nor do I expect them to respect my views because, frankly, let us admit, the word we're looking for is 'tolerate' as what is meant is that we don't run after our political and ideological 'adversaries' with hatchets and sticks with nails through them.

Really, I don't know. According to a few tests, I'm a very moderate liberal, meaning I'm somewhere very close to the center. I guess I love progress, but I wouldn't endorse the well intended but unrealistic progress the young would espouse. Voted in between myself.

I make people giving me a note of pity. I am a socialist. Not like in Russia of course but I do believe that people in real need should be helped. I guess that I am a social person. But I am also well aware that quite some people take advantage of a social policy. Such is life.

I'm also a socialist. I think freedom is extremely important, and that government generally shouldn't interfere with what people choose to do in their private lives. But I think freedom should be balanced with equality and that the government's most important responsibility is to facilitate equality. I believe passionately in progressive taxation, the welfare state and workers' rights.

I am to be honest a Socailist. One form of political belief not on the poll, so I voted other. In the UK, I would vote for the Labour party, regardless of the type of election. Have got one coming up in May 2011. As to which political belief is right or wrong, one persons right will be another persons wrong. That is the beauty of politics!

I voted "other". My political views are not applicable for now, as they require an advanced form of technology that we definitely do not possess for the moment. I'll make sure to describe them extensively one day, but in short, it's a form of individualistic Anarchism, with no governments and no frontiers between nations (the concept of "nation" itself would lose all meaning in that context). I'm definitely not conservative, and if liberal means "in favor of extensive individual freedoms", then yes I'm liberal, even very liberal. I see that many people believe that their political views must be applied now and immediately, but that's not the case for me. I think humanity should evolve and adopt social, economic, and political systems that are fit for its historical period (Martin, is that what you meant by "pragmatic orientation"?), and if I adopt the political stance briefly described above, it's simply because it's the farthest point I can "see" in the future, thus I suggest it as an objective and try to see what paths may possibly lead to it. I think a first major step would be the unification of all humanity under one banner... I hope it happens during my lifetime...

The world is not a sports match, although it often times feels as if it is. Conservative, Liberal, Socialist, Communist, Libertarian, Green, Tory, or whatever Kool-Aid you want to drink are all wrong. It frustrates me to no end, especially living in the USA, where I hear nothing but REPUBLICAN PARTY VS. DEMOCRATIC PARTY. The nonsense I am shilled every day is enough to drive me insane, which is why I tune it out.

Do I think we need better health services for citizens? Yes.
Is protecting the borders of my country important? No.
Is encouraging people to become teachers a necessity so we can improve our country's future with brighter minds a necessity? Yes.
Do I believe that every day citizens should stop waiting for everything to be handed to them and work towards what they want? Yes.

All in all, I want a global government and not a mere country. These idiotic borders we put up do nothing but delude us into believing we're different from one another, and the same applies to political parties. The two-party system in the US has believing that you can only be a Republican or Democrat, or some variation of those parties. All in all, I think it's all nonsense.

i think im more in the middle. i believe there are some things that needs to be changed but there are also some that needs to stay the same
