Hi Good Morning! I visited Japan last December and was visit a shrine in Osaka. I picked up this 'fortune' from the temple and am very curious to know what it means in a native Japanese context.

Appreciate the help! Thank you.

Great Great Blessing

To illuminate people's wish who pray to me (= Myōjin; the Deity of the Fishimi Inari Taisha), three lights (= three shrines in Fushimi Inari) are left in this world.

This is a sign of wishes fulfillment, wealth and happiness. However, if you begin to have unconscionable desire, it can occur that you lost all your property and drop down to the bottom of adversity. Devote yourself to the faith, and do not neglect almsgiving.

Direction: The south-west is good.

Illness: It will be cured soon.

Marriage: Good.

Building your house or moving: Great lucky.

Business: There is enough happiness.

Gambles: You must win.

It never happens that your thoughts and wishes won't come true, as if you are in an abundant Year.

I've never seen "Great Great Blessing" fortune slip. You must be extremely lucky. As I wrote above, the slip says that it's omikuji of Fushimi Inari Taisha, thus, it's in Kyoto, not Osaka, by the way.

@Toritoribe , can you please explain the role of those 一、as well please? It is not the first time i see such listing where entries begin with 一、It would make some sense to me if they were ordinal like 一、二、三、 and so on.

一 or 一つ is just a bullet symbol such like "• (dot)" which is put at the beginning of each line in a list.

I see.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think i also heard those "ひとつ" being used in spoken language. I think it was a scene in a movie where a character was going through terms of a testament, reading them out loud. Or it was that other movie where a judge was reading charges pressed against a felon.
Can it be used in such ways in spoken language? And more importantly can those 一、一、一、 be replaced by 一、二、三、both in writing and speech?

If you mean "to read it out" by "being used in spoken language", yes of course since it's a word, not a mark such like period or comma. 一、二、三、 also can be used, but this has a nuance that they are listed in the order of priority. On the other hand, 一、一、一、 can be used for a list in random order.

You've got a point there. Certainly reading out is different from spoken language.
Also thank you for explaining that priority nuance.

Put aside your desires and obey the right way for everything.

I've never seen 向大吉, so I googled and found that the fortune slips of Fushimi Inari are a bit special. The level of luckiness are usually divided into 7 or so, but there are 17 grades in Fushimi Inari. Your "Great Great Blessing" is the first rank, and your wife's one is the 3rd rank in the 17 grades.

How about Osaka vs. Kyoto I pointed out above, by the way? You got those slips in Kyoto, no?
