Visa Extension Time

What happens if I apply for my working visa extension 2 weeks before it expires and the application process (until the decision of the visa office) exceeds that expiration date?

Will I loose the privilege to work between the expiration date and the start of the extension? Or will I get some temporary status to continue working until the application process is finished?

And something out of curiosity: What happens if the extension is denied? Will I have to leave the country immediately or is there some time left for handling everything before leaving?

Thanks in advance!

I believe you are still legally allowed to stay as long as that pending visa is still in process.

If you are denied, then of course you will have to leave the country. Depending on circumstances, you might get up to 30 days to leave, but I'd count on only a week or 2.

Please double check this. Start with this site. It's not easy to navigate, but I think the info is there.
