Translation of Kanji

I have a WW2 flag with many Kanji's on it and was wondering if anyone can help translate some of them for me? I was told that it belonged to a squadron that was assigned to the fleet that participated in the Pearl Harbor attack. I'm a skeptic but you never know. I'm new to the forum so if I'm not doing something correctly, please let me know. I tried to do some translating on my own, with little success, and was told that this site for great for "help"! That's obviously a fake. There are meaningless rows of numbers such like "123456789", "5678109246" or just enumeration of words "up, middle, down", "life", "Free Japan", etc. It's written by someone who actually didn't know Japanese language (judging from what's written there, probably a Chinese speaker). They put a katakana "za", i.e., the transliteration of the English word "the" before "Great Japan", for instance.
