Translation of 2 sentences

I tried to write 2 sentences. Are these sentences correct? And if they are not, could you say what part of them are wrong?
1. I like riding bicycle because it is the same thing as being free to me.
じてんしゃに乗るのが好きです。わたしにとってそれはじゆうになるということですから。
2.I like seeing places that I've never seen and meeting with the people who I don't know.
見たこともないばしょを見て、知らないひとたちにあうことがすきです。

They look good as is. However I'll tell you what I'd do.

For the first item, I think I'd say it gives me the feeling of being free using the word 気分.

For the second item, I'd probably use the ~たりする form to indicate there are other things I like that aren't listed. e.g.
見たことがないばしょを見たり、知らない人にあったりすることがすきです。

Thank you mdchacha. So for the first sentence, I have to say that "私にとってそれは気分になるということですから。" 気分になる = じゆうになる ?? Did I understand correctly?

Thank you so much mdchachi :) I understand clearly now. By the way I searched for "computer enginnering" in Japanese. But I couldn't find the correct words for it. How can I say it?
