I was wondering if 上はwould be the best way to say 'as long as' in the following sentence:

"I will be happy as long as he is happy dating somebody"

I'd use the ~たら form in this case.
彼が誰かと付き合ったらうれしい
If it was really something of consequence with some cause & effect like,
As long as Michael Jordan plays, I will buy tickets.
Then I'd say something like
マイケルジョーダンがやめない限りチケットを買う

なら conditional also works well.
