Can someone kindly help me translate "smith" to Japanese?
Not the name Smith, but rather the profession/artist "smith".
Similar to blacksmith, locksmith etc, but not related to a specific profession. So just smith alone if that makes sense.

Thank you very much in advance!

The dictionary I have doesn't differentiate between smith & blacksmith.
鍛冶 (Kaji)

I'm pretty sure a smith and a blacksmith are basically the same in English, too. I've never heard of a locksmith being called a "smith". "Locksmith" is just a compound word. I mean, it makes as much sense to me as calling an artist an "ist", and in the same sense looking for a translation for the second part of "locksmith" sounds to me like looking for a translation for the "ist" in "artist".

What exactly is it that you're trying to accomplish by translating the second half of "locksmith"?

"Smith" is an actual word but to your point if the OP only wants to focus on that there are other synonyms that would fit. Like maker or fabricator.
