Hello,
It's my first time posting. Thank you for having me! I've got three pieces of artwork, dating back to the turn of the century (1900-1910), and each have a line of characters, that I was hoping to have translated if possible. I've even had trouble deciding if they were hiragana, katakana, or possibly even just gibberish. Any help would be much appreciated.

Any clues on the artist? Could be American trying to make a Chinese-like painting.
