What's new

this is serious: donツエt take me serious

thanx to everybody for the nice welcome😄

my favorite us rap acts are:
jay-z, the whole roccafella-fam (freeway, beanie sigel, memphis bleek, chris and neef, peedie crakk.....), nas🙂 , ludacris, 50 cent (his old stuff is really hot, his new stuff is hot too, but he got hyped so much that i'm already bored), joe budden, jadakiss, wu-tang, mos def, pharaoe monch, hierogliphics, dialated peoples, gangstarr, mobb deep, snoop dogg, dr dre, cee-lo..... and the saga continues.
but right now my favorite is still jay-z🙂 .

i also like listening and especially dancing to dancehall/ragga like sean paul, wayne wonder, beenie man, bounty killer, elephant man, lady saw......(in my city is a big dancehall-scene)

my last musical love is soul. music from the heart for your soul like patti labelle, diana ross with or without the supremes, the black michael jackson ;), isaak hayes, barry white (rip), the dramatics..........

i could go on writing all day long. but this'd make no sense.
music is the love of my life.............what's yours?

hustla, I see we have some music interests in common. When 50 Cent first came out, I was so excited. I thought he was going to be the new Tupac or something. Now, like you say, with all the hype surrounding him, I'm already tired of his stuff.

I'm not a big fan of Jay-Z. I'd have to say, as far as rappers go, I like Missy Elliott, Joe Budden, Young Guns, Wu-Tang, Ludacris, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, MC Lyte, Nas(sorry Jay-Z)...I could go on and on.

I also love Wayne Wonder. He's really underrated, I think. I like him better than Sean Paul. Sean Paul is another one I'm getting tired of because of over-hype.

Barry White and Isaac Hayes are good. Also, as far as old school goes, Roberta Flack, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, the black Michael Jackson...etc. etc.

I could go on and on about R&B and rap. I love both. Of course, I love all kinds of music. I can't live without my tunes! :p

i see, i see...........:)
your music taste is just my way (except jigga, but i don't give what). i totally agree with your thing with sean paul. his music is cool, especially his first album, but he's really over hyped and right now everybody wants to make tracks with him. the same with 50. right now these 2 are the no.1 features and i'm getting tired of it. but what a luck, there are soooo many good artists that you can choose what you want to listen to. like missy.she's hot and i can't wait to hear her new album. the new track "pass the dutch" is soooo hot.
i was really suprised bout the joe budden album. first i thought he's just a party-rapper, but his deep tracks are incredible (10 minutes!!!!!👍 ).
i'm really looking forward to the black album (i know, i know), the new meth man, kayne west,a tribe called quest and i just read a new big l (rip) album is coming with unreleased tracks produced by lord finesse.
do you know if there is a just blaze album coming up?
what do you think bout the ludacris and the state property 2 album?
:p

I liked Jay-Z when he came out with "Big Pimpin'", but for some reason, I just lost interest after that. Especially now that he and Beyonce are like this power couple. That kind of gets tired. I don't like her that much, either. I'm SO tired of "Baby Boy". I've had enough, already.

I love "Pass the Dutch". It's great. I have always liked Missy. A Tribe Called Quest is coming out with a new album? I didn't know that. I used to love them way back when. What do you think about Outkast? Chingy? Nelly? I think I already know what your answer to Nelly will be...hehe Probably the same as mine. By the way, I forgot to mention another one of my favorite female rappers...Trina. Love Trina.

Don't know about a new Just Blaze album coming up. I love the State Property Vol. 2, because it has Young Gunz on it. "Can't Stop, Won't Stop"... :p Another good one is "It's All Real" by Pitch Black. It sounds kind of old school-ish to me.

yup yup but he has his own stuff that i like better.
also the alphabet rap by blackalicious kicks ***.
im not into gangsta rap so i just pick up weird things by not mainstream peeps.

What do you think about Outkast? Chingy? Nelly?

outkast is cool but sometimes they are way toooooo spaced out. i used to love 'em back at the players ball. i like most chingy tracks. it's good music to cruise to.
nelly??? i don't know. i don't like him. but he got a few good songs and he got his own style. i won't say that he's really bad, but he's a popstar and i don't listen to him that much or not at all.
but no hating. he's doin his thing.
trina is nice. i just heard a few singles and features. i liked what i heard but i never heard a whole album from her. you see, i'm living in germany and sometimes it can be hard to get an album that you want to have. for example i had to order bouth state property albums, the shyne, the memphis bleek, the freeway album and ....... from the states because they don't sell it here in germany. the outher way is to download it, but albums that i like from artists that (in my eyes) deserves it to get my appreciation i'll always buy. like the black album. i already got it and it's off the hook. and when it'll be released i'll buy it. even if you don't like him, listen to it and do it closely. tell me about your experiences. i already love it.👏

i can understand you. i used to listen (and i still do just not that much) to underground stuff, backpack rap, conscienceness rap or however we call it. but everything is just music and what should they do when many people like their music and they're buying it. i always try to make a difference between people that are making their music and the crowd likes (and buy) it and the people that are making music that the people want to hear to sell it. i came from listening straight underground to nas and from nas to jigga and now i listen to everything i like. what do you think about the things from def jux or from groove attack?

yea, every1 check out del - he's great and blackalicious are just amazin! that alphabet aerobics (i think its called) is great.

i really like some of the stuff on def jux - el-p and mr lif in particular, but a lot of it is a bit too 'underground' if u know what i mean :p

outkast are great, has any1 seen the video for Hey Ya by Andre off the Love Below/Speakerboxxx double album - its hilarious

im not into stuff like jay-z and nas etc - it just doesnt appeal to me and i dont like the things that theyre rappin about

my sentiments exactly jon
i havent heard any def jux though, ill check it out. i heard another good group the other day ill check back when i remember who it was.

you really need to check out the group called "square one". they are from germany but they could be from the states (actually one of them is). they are rapping in english and their beats are soooo deep. their stuff is really cool and non-commercial. so try to download it because it could be really difficult to order it. anyway, check this out and tell me bout it.

def jux is a label with hot underground stuff. and groove attack is a german label. they got a lot of good artist that you already (or at least should) know, like biz markie, cali agents, common, declaime or phife dawg (of ATCQ). their "superrapin"-compilations are really good. you can check out the site. i think, it's www.grooveattack.com

the video is just as crazy as the artist. the song is nice but it's soooo crazy. what is your favorite artist/album/track?????????:p

my favourite artist, album and track? hmmm,

fave artist - i cant really pick one, but if pushed it would be between Jurassic 5, The Roots and Blackalicious
album - thats a really tricky one, it changes week to week really but maybe Blazing Arrow by Blackalicious or Primitve Plus by Edan
track - thats impossible...it really is

i so wanna get Biz Markie's new album, he is one crazy guy!

and about square one - i'll check them out. thanks for the recommendation

Wow...Biz Markie. That brings back some memories. Remember "Just a Friend"? I used to love that song and video. That was when I was in high school... :p
