In studying the history of WW2, and world history in general... One thing that strikes me as ironic, is that the Japanese have always had such strong feelings about being honorable, and being an honorable people in an honorable country.

After studying a lot of history about your culture... I just want to say...
I don't think the Japanese have any honor. I think Japan has zero honor. I think the Japanese have no honor. None. Zero. I think the way Japan behaved in WW2 was atrocious, and that the Japanese were almost as bad as the Nazis.

I actually went through the trouble of finding this forum, making an account, just to tell you that honestly, from the bottom of my heart... I think the Japanese are some of the least honorable people of the 20th century.

There are many books and theories explaining their behavior I have read over the years . In almost any war in history you read about in detail , you will find people that do horrific things. I always feel bad for the civilians that suffer so much , not just the military members. When you look at the number of deaths the Japanese suffered by the end of the war , it seems they paid their dues in blood. When you look at some of the things done by Americans in the Korean War and Vietnam and the Mid East on purpose as well as by accident , even our hands are not squeaky clean. Look at ISIS , it seems doing horrific deeds to spread terror and gain publicity still takes place.
By the way , here on JREF , your audience is made up mostly of non-Japanese who post here because they have mostly a positive view of Japan. If I recall , there are some old posts here about the war and the use of the atomic bombs you might like to read.
I find it kind of funny your user name is Mr-Truth and yet you gave a false location. Your home state has a very large Japanese population , did one of them piss you off enough you had to come post here ?

Virtually every single culture has committed atrocities somewhere in their past. It is one of the defining aspects of humanity. Many cultures continue to commit atrocities. Western cultures, Eastern cultures, and all points between and around.

Also, understand that your definition of the word honor may be different than the Japanese.

I'm from the USA and having studied a good deal of world history, they're no better or worse than any other culture in terms of war crimes. You can't throw an entire population under the bus just because of what their military and government did.

The banality of evil is no excuse for it, but anecdotes are no basis for racist platitudes. Your conclusions are wrong but I doubt that bothers you much.

almost as bad as the nazis... and how much honor did they have, while we're comparing notes and all

Interesting that you'd use information from an event decades in the past (and none else) to justify saying something about present day Japanese. Just saying...

Interesting. You sought out a forum used mostly by non-Japanese to tell the Japanese something. Kind of shows your lack of ability, doesn't it?

By the way, are you American? America is not No. 1, you know, despite what Americans say. Not at all. Zero. Nada. Zilch. So, there!

Have a pleasant day.

Do some study about the atrocities he USA have perpetrated on the world (either historic or current). You might also find that meddling by the USA was one of the key triggers for the Pacific war, and the leaders knew it. The official accounts and records are when, not if.

As for honor, I think you are mixing individuals and a way of thinking with something else.

Correct me if I am wrong but...

How many REAL Americans did your illegal immigrants of ancestors killed and continue to abuse? Just saying... But whatever you believe, you are not American your ancestors stole the land you are now calling home.

Did Japanese committed war crime? Yes, like your ancestors did and continue to do worldwide, like Germans, British, Russian, Chinese, French, Indians (from India) and the rest of every nation that ever excited.

It occurs to me that this thread is very unlikely to go anywhere good from here. It's devolving into recriminations and accusations, of which there are plenty to go around.

Though it may be a reasonable discussion for people to have (though I frankly don't see it as something that can produce anything positive), I don't see how it's pertinent to this forum, and especially this subforum.

Kashmir (And accidentaly one of the best Led zep song)

https://www.hrw.org/sites/default/files/reports/INDIA935.PDF

Granted the magnitude may not be as big as some other countries but war crimes are war crimes :(
There are no war crimes by India in Kashmir.
EDIT: kashmir is a disputed area. Pakistan and china want that land. No war is going on at the moment.

And I read the pdf (which was news to me, I hope the offenders get punished), even though the stuff mentioned in the pdf is horrifying, they dont count as "war crimes".
It probably seems foolish to nitpick over such a small thing, but India has gone through a lot of stuff and the media keeps saying **** about it and there are lots of misconceptions about India, so I just wanted to clear this point.

I'm not defending the acts done by those people in anyway.

I agree. Please lock this thread.

And now that I have re-read my post , I feel stupid and embarrassed about posting such stuff. Excuse my rudeness. I was a bit irritated ( about the previous post ) .
