Hi everyone!! 🙂

I'm new here but umm...I'm kinda bad at introductions...so I might skip that, lol. I'm Scottish though...if that interests anyone.....which I doubt but umm, it kinda sucks here, just incase some people thought it might be cool to visit one day and wanted some inside comments! I'll shut up now and get to the important part though. 😄

Has anyone saw the first episode of the new Tenchi OVA that came out in Japan around the 18th of September? Just so you know, it continues on from the end of the original OVA series, known in the US as just plain old Tenchi Muyo! which was kind of put on hold about 10 YEARS ago.

I'll admit...I've watched it fansubbed and it was pretty good! The plot's moving along pretty quickly, no slow start with episodes about taking care of babies like the second OVA.

There are a few problems, for one the art style is kinda a little bit different now and Ayeka seems to have lost some of her personality. Another is that at least 10 minutes of the episode are flashbacks from the start of OVA1. Apart from these though, it was fine. I've never seen Tenchi in Tokyo (Shin Tenchi Muyo) but I've heard really bad things about it, so I'm glad to see this isn't so bad. I really liked the first OVAs and Tenchi Universe. :)

So, what about you guys?

Well I've seen it and I doubt I'm the only English speaking guy in the world who has. :snore:

I guess there's not many Tenchi fans here...oh well. :(

Awww. :(

Well I would reply if I knew anything about it. I should probably read those Tenchi mangas I got earlier in the summer.

I just never really get around to reading stuff for some reason. I still have to finish a book that I started reading way back in January. -_-;

Yeah, I like that picture of Ryoko.

Well if I as allowed, I would post the fansub torrent.....that is, if it was still active, but I doubt it. Sorry. :sorry:

I deleted the episode anyway. It's not that I didn't like it, I really did, but I mean for one it's not legal but errr, nevermind about that, the main reason was because the file was like 450Mb and I was running out of space. (my computer is quite old. :( )

Nearly 3000 apparently, which is a huge amount. o_O

Why are you acting kinda mean and negative?

not being mean and negative

yet (or ever?)
but there is definitely something to be said for math and/or the laws of probablility

OVA 3 is great

I've only seen the first episode, I will soon have the second one.
The previous tenchi episodes/spin-offs have dark and rich colors.
From what I know the old NTSC coloring system (3) limited the classic version to such coloring, anti-aliasing and and extra smoothing.
OVA 3 is an improvement in color and resolution with 32-bit color.
Natively running at 29.97 and 720 by 480+, better gamma too.
Hope they release a D-VHS or BetaCam version so it can be watched in the true splendor of HDTV(1080).
Released in Japan on 18th of Sep.
Recieved in Hong Kong on 19th of Sep.
On the 20th of Sep. a regionfree 9gb disk is delivered to my house in Chicago.
I watched in in 720p+
No Set-top box (under $3000) can play it at that resolution or better..
Best is to get an HDTV with RGB/DVI input and play the dvd off the PC, you get the best color and highest resolution.

GXP is clean.
OVA3 is even cleaner.
Quality is so good that the rips can be substituted as the real thing and no one will no the difference.
I have both versions.
Try Ebay or Bittorrent
I recommend buying it, you can turn off the secondary subtitles.

Yeah, his dad drives a crappy SCION.
