Temple University Japan (TUJ) is excited to offer certified IT training courses in partnership with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), through their educational affiliate iCarnegie.
Ten advanced computer courses will be offered that cover areas such as Information Systems, Java, C++, UML, distributed databases, IT Project Management and other methodologies that are suitable for both beginning level and advanced computer users. This is a structured program that will allow students to focus on increasing their IT skills and applicational usage of broad-based system integration techniques instead of the use of vendor-specific applications, thus students are provided skills that are not tied to one company and that will not quickly become obsolete.
Two iCarnegie certifications, one in Computer Programming and the other in Software Systems Development are being offered through the Continuing Education offices at TUJ. These courses are taught in an English University level environment and will challenge students by providing them access to Masters level educational content and material from the #1 ranked US Graduate Computer Science program in the United States (2002 US News & World Reports). Students of the Temple IT Program who wish to take courses at Carnegie Mellon University in the United States will receive advanced standing for the Masters of Science in Information Systems degree program or completed undergraduate degree course credit transfers.
