Been poking around on-line for good ryokan in Kyoto , but I am not meeting with much satisfaction. I was hoping some forum-ites might have some good recommendations for family to check out when they come to Japan.

Ideally, since I can't stay with them, the staff would have had some experience with foreign guests, speak a little English and/or be game to give it a shot. Price is not a big sticking point, but lets keep it at about 15,000 (yen) a person per night, or lower, for kicks.

Thanks in advance - M

Cheap Ryokans in Kyoto

Hi Mandylion,

I can recommend these places. They are all under 10,000 yen per person and some English is spoken:
