Hello. I really need someone to correct my translation.

I am not sure how to say "Capacitors based on titanium dioxide" The "based on" is hard for me to translate.
Anyway, here is my attempt:

1926年前後に二酸化チタン(金紅石)に基づくコンデンサ は市販されていた。

I would say 二酸化チタンを基にしたコンデンサ.

Grammatically, を主成分とする or が主成分である is better, but チタン is not 主成分 of コンデンサ, in the first place.

But チタン is the base of the capacitor, meaning that the capacitor is made of チタン , right?

So, 二酸化チタンを基にしたコンデンサ is the correct way to translate it?

Simply because the word 主成分 is mischoice.

Is there any reason you think that's not correct?

You mean what's not correct? That 主成分 is mischoice? Like I said before, in post#5.

"Is there any reason you think that's not correct?" is for "So, 二酸化チタンを基にしたコンデンサ is the correct way to translate it? "

At first I thought of translating that way but I have a doubt because does 基に mean that the capacitor is made of 二酸化チタン as a base?

を基にした is what the original English sentence means. Isn't that what you are looking for?
