I think taxi's just about everywhere are cheaper than Japan but they have gotten cheaper than before.

shopping around

After a bit of shopping around i found prices range from ﾂ｣400-1200 so the prices do vary a bit, i still unsure whether to book it because it be cheaper else where.

Check Aeroflot mate, they seem to have good deals around 400q return

listen all .... save money for a plane ticket is very important
fly with a secure airplane and a good airline is more important...

Some airlines to reduce costs don't do a serious maintanance to their aircraft...
so be aware all about this.

There's a deal on StaTravel, i think the site is http://www.statravel.co.uk , which is a package for Japanese lessons, accomodation, and Virgin Airline plane tickets.
The one i remember costs ﾂ｣1600 for four weeks. (Btw it's in Kanazawa, which i'm told is right next to Tokyo.)

Airfare to Tokyo fluctuates like crazy. Case in point: In August of 2003, I flew round-trip from my hometown of Philadelphia, PA to Japan on American for $846.00. Today, that same ticket would cost somewhere around $1,100.00. You'd have to check the Internet almost daily to find the cheapest possible fares these days!
